This book tells the story of a fourteen-year-old girl named Aleaha who is cast out of her home in south Alabama because she doesn't get along with Jim, her mother's live-in. She is sent to her Aunt Jill's in Tampa Florida. Her Aunt Jill, in Aleaha's opinion is a skanky, whisper of an old woman who chain smokes and is constantly on her case.
