The classic world-view is expanded herein by the insightful words of Ramón del Valle-Inclán (Spain, 1866-1936) on the traditions and beliefs of ancient Greece. They, too, are touchstones for this collection. The prose texts that introduce the collection and accompany the poems are from The Lamp of Marvels (Lindisfarne Press, 1986), my translation of La lámpara maravillosa (1916) by Ramón del Valle-Inclán.
