Jenn Segal is the founder of Once Upon a Chef, the popular blog showcasing easy, family-friendly recipes from a chef's point of view. Her recipes have been featured on numerous websites, magazines, and television programs, including The Huffington Post, WJLA's Good Morning Washington, and Parade.com. Before starting her blog, Jenn cooked at the acclaimed L'Auberge Chez Francois and was director of marketing for a prominent restaurant group, both in the Washington D.C. metro area. She now lives in Potomac, Maryland, with her husband and two children.

I love Jen Segal and her food!! She has wonderful, unique flavor profiles without using a ton of unusual ingredients that you will never use again. The recipes are not difficult, but taste like it! She takes great care to give precise directions and helpful pictures to ensure your success. Her recipes have all been tested by actual home cooks who have given her feedback so that you can trust that they work. The book is also loaded with "pro tips" from her kitchen to broaden your knowledge. She has become my go-to source (along with her blog, Once Upon A Chef) for any recipe I might be looking for. Her recipe for Sweet, Salty, Spicy Pecans is addictive and incredibly easy--a staple at our house during the holidays, along with the tasty Roasted Eggplant and Chickpea Tapenade! The Roasted Tomato Soup and Thai Crunch Salad are winners that I never tire of, and the No-Churn Cheesecake Ice Cream with Graham Cracker Pecan Crumble is to die for! Just a picture walk through this beautifully photographed cookbook will inspire you and get your juices flowing! It's so nice to have a collection of recipes that are so special, with results that you can trust!
I came across Once Upon Chef Jenn's blog when I was searching for a beef stew recipe. Oh my goodness, it was the best beef stew and truly a 5 star restaurant quality meal. I've tried many other of the recipes on her blog and everything comes out perfect so of course I had to have her cookbook. It's such a beautiful cookbook and one of my favorites and I own a ton of cookbooks! I can always count on Jenn's recipes and so happy to have found her. You will not be disappointed! She is one of the best chef's in my opinion and we have the same tastes in the food I want to serve!

A friend suggested Jennifer Segal's blog a few years back and I fell in love with her recipes. 99.9% of everything I tried was a HUGE hit with family & friends. So much so, that when news of her book, Once Upon a Chef came out, I got in line & pre-ordered it. Upon it's arrival, I devoured every page, just like her recipes. Beautifully illustrated, thoughtfully put together and the instructions & recipes never disappoint.
