his work has a very simple goal that's very different than the goal of Dante's Divine Comedy. It detects, traces, and follows light. In Dante's cosmology, light marks the completion of a spiritual arc. A soul goes down the spiritual arc to Inferno where there is no light. Going up to Purgatory and Paradise, light marks the arc going up. Light maps movements to and from Eternal Darkness toward salvation in Purgatory, and on to Paradise.
