Overview

Random Acts of Trust by Julia Kent

Giving up is hard...but giving in is even harder.

When did my life become a demented episode from The Mindy Project?

Moving to Boston to begin grad school meant I was supposed to start a new life — not dig through a past I thought I'd left behind four years ago. But when I saw the poster for Random Acts of Crazy, all I could think about was the drummer, Sam Hinton, the boy I'd loved in high school and who disappeared with my heart.

Who knew I'd become the living version of Magic Mike?

Seeing Amy Smithson at my gig and watching her win a kiss from my bandmate, Liam, was a gut punch. Four years ago we squared off in a high school debate that had higher stakes than we ever imagined, and here I was...wanting what I'd walked away from. Are there too many secrets between us to allow her to trust me again?

And can I trust myself?

The second book in the Random series after the wildly successful New York Times and USA Today bestseller Random Acts of Crazy, Random Acts of Trust is a New Adult romantic comedy that explores the love between one man, one woman, and ends with one Happily Ever After (and no cliffhangers or chickens!). Fate took their lives by storm four years ago and put an unbreachable gulf between Sam and Amy. This 87,000 word/346 page book asks: Can time really heal all wounds...or are some scars too deep?

About the Author

New York Times and USA Today Bestselling Author Julia Kent writes romantic comedy with an edge. From billionaires to BBWs to new adult rock stars, Julia finds a sensual, goofy joy in every contemporary romance she writes. Unlike Shannon from Shopping for a Billionaire, she did not meet her husband after dropping her phone in a men's room toilet (and he isn't a billionaire).

She lives in New England with her husband and three sons in a household where the toilet seat is never, ever, down.

I enjoyed Random Acts of Trust it was a witty read. The characters were great and I enjoyed getting to know Darla in "friend mode". She was hilarious. The entire book kept me laughing and there were some good moments between Sam and Amy and their story was captivating. Another good read from Julia Kent.

Random Acts of Trust was an amazing read!! I love how the author always connects characters from her pervious book to the characters in new books. I feel like I am able to get an update and am already invested in the book. In this installment of Random we meet smoking hot drummer Sam and sweet Amy. Their lives where forever changed in high school do to family secrets, half truths, and lost love. This book takes the reader on an amazing journey where you will laugh uncontrollably, want to cry, and root for these two characters. Now I can’t wait for Liam’s story.

B&N do a better job of weeding out the rubish that uneducated children post as their own little chat room or stop taking reviews altogether. Your stars are meaningless as it stands.

Julia Kent never disappoints. I enjoy the POV style she uses with her characters.

I couldn't get past chapter 2. I'm not sure if it was the point of views or the writing style. I found it boring and in some parts hard to follow, which is sad since it was only the 1st chapter. I may come back to in the future and see if I can get into it.

200 pages. Book 2 in series. Stand alone HEA. Adult content. I like the characters and the plot. Some decent character development. First half was a bit confusing due to jumps in the timeline between present and past and switching POV. Don't plan to read rest of series, glad this was free.

I was gifted a complimentary copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. This is the fourth book in the Random Series. I would definitely recommend that the series be read in order.  Finally we have Liams story. We start by being introduced to Charlotte. The love of Liams life. The one who broke his heart. There are secrets and misunderstands involved. To me it was a little more personal with the miscarriage thrown in there. Again, as with most of Julia Kent's books she makes you almost feel like your living the life of the main characters. This is a story that will break your heart, make you cry, laugh, and then put you back together again. One thing I love about this series is that the characters from previous books are still around. At this point it's like a family. Can't wait for that to continue with #5.

Julia Kent's books always have that witty sarcastic humor and this one did as well.  Sam and Amy make a good couple,  especially after spending over 4 years apart. And the cell phone story might just top the Mavis story in the first book.

A bit slow in the beginning, building anticipation. Each chapter was like opening up a wrapped present, only to find another wrapped present in side! When things finally start happening, though, the store and characters grab you and you just can't put it down. Part of a series, but this book is a great stand-alone all by itself. Romantic, funny, heart-wrenching at times - definitely worth a read.

MY VIEW: This was a good follow up after Random Acts Of Crazy ... I love how she wrote this.. It was a quick read just like the rest! they are awesome! shows how assumptions and misinterpretations can cause so much trouble without communication..... I love the Attraction and the back story between them and I love Liam it was a nice change of pace for the story!!!

I liked this book as well and like the characters being intertwined so it actually helps to have read the books in order. Some series are only in a book long enough to introduce the newest couple. There is humor, sex and a good story.

If you like a good book, do not read this. If you want mindless, juvenile story & sex, go for it!
