Half Man. Half Machine. All Hers.
Rage, the Humanoid Alliance’s most primitive cyborg, has two goals—kill all of the humans on his battle station and escape to the Homeland. The warrior has seen the darkness in others and in himself. He believes that’s all he’s been programmed to experience.
Until he meets Joan.
Joan, the battle station’s first female engineer, has one goal—survive long enough to help the big sexy cyborg plotting to kill her. Rage might not trust her but he wants her. She sees the passion in his eyes, the caring in his battle-worn hands, the gruff emotion in his voice.
When Joan survives the unthinkable, Rage’s priorities are tested. Is there enough room in this cyborg’s heart for both love and revenge?

Overall Rating: 4.5 Rockin’ ★★★★☆ In Releasing Rage by Cynthia Sax, the author creates a world where cyborgs are controlled by humans for the purpose of fighting battles they cannot win with their limited ability. It is suspenseful, action-packed and full of sensual encounters. The inhumane way the cyborgs are handled by their engineers is harsh and daunting. While on a battleship in another galaxy a cyborg's hatred for humans is put to the ultimate test when he meets his new engineer, Joan. Joan is the first and only female engineer and the men on the station won't accept her. This is the story of Rage and Joan and how love can conquer all! From the beginning I was captured by Joan's ability to calm and bring peace. She was from an Agri, farming community, that was destroyed in the war. Her family was killed and a cyborg saved her. She swore she would pay it forward and dedicated her life to helping the cyborgs. She studied hard and excelled at the academy and was placed on a battleship ready to service the cyborg she would be paired with. The commander did not want a female aboard his ship and allowed cruel and mean attacks on Joan. She lived daily in fear. When she finally is given a cyborg to pair with she is taken aback when Rage is presented to her. He has been sorely abused by his previous engineers and loathes humans. He killed his last one! This story is about trust and forgiveness and a sexy hot cyborg finding his heart. I loved the buildup of trust the author developed between the couple and the yearning for acceptance of something neither understood but wanted. The secondary characters were important in providing pivotal information about the story. This is a must read for sci-fi romance followers and a welcome addition to anyone's eBook library. I look forward to the next encounter from this fabulous author and her sexy world of cyborgs!

Holy smokes! Nothing like a nerdy woman engineer & a sexually dominant cyborg male story.

I have to admit this is the first science fiction romance I’ve ever reviewed although it’s not the first I’ve read. That said and being a fan of Sci-Fi for years, I had no idea what to expect from RELEASING RAGE. Being pleasantly surprised is always a plus! The premise centers in a futuristic society where cyborg warriors have been bred to fight a nearly invincible insectoid enemy. Human society has degraded socially and women are again treated as the lesser sex, often thought of as brood mothers and sex toys instead of individuals. Enter Joan, a brilliant female cyborg engineer, whose goal is to survive and prove everyone wrong about women, and Rage, her first assignment, will be the one to help her see those goals through in more ways than one. If you are expecting a traditional romance plot, you will be disappointed. RELEASING RAGE does include romance, but not how you’d expect it. While the attraction and emotion is present, there’s more instinct at first. Rage is a product of a laboratory, and as such, has been bred to keep his urges to a minimum. Sex is a matter of reproduction to him. When Joan tests his resolve to hate all humans, the change is surprising, to the reader and Joan herself. Together they manage to make it work. It’s not a book that everyone will find interesting, but if you are looking for something COMPLETELY different from the usual fare, by all means take a look at Cynthia Sax’s RELEASING RAGE. You will be pleasantly surprised. Heat Level: 4 Rating: 4 stars

This was my first Cynthia Sax book. Joan is the first female engineer on the battle station she is assigned to. It just so happens the man in charge is very sexist and against woman holding "mens jobs" and he hires like minded men. When she gets assigned to Cyborg "Rage" it is because he killed his last handler and everyone assumes he will kill her too. Joan is partly in love with the C Model Cyborg before she ever meets him. As a child she was saved by a C Model Cyborg when the rest of her family was killed. The Cyborgs are considered just machines by everyone but Joan on the battle station. The other handlers abuse them in every way imaginable. They are planning to escape and destroy the humans. The story is about Joan and what she does to convince Rage to trust her. This book has violence from both the humans and the cyborgs. There is a scene that might be a trigger for some people. I liked the story but would have liked some more background on their world before just jumping in. I felt a little lost. I am interested in reading some of the others in the series.

This book is so good. The worldbuilding is intricate and full. The storyline is involving and at times heartwrenching. I've re-read it numerous times and still the book drags me in doesn't let go 'til the end.

I absolutely LOVED this book!!! Ok, ok, I almost stopped reading it at the beginning. I wasn't sure what to think about Rage and how he treated Joan, and wasn't exactly sure where the story was going. BUT. I am SO happy I stuck with it!!! This book is so full of EMOTION. I kid you not, I was in tears at one point. The feelings were conveyed so well, and I couldn't get enough of Rage and Joan. True to its genre, this book is graphic. Blood and gore await, but it fit in perfectly with the story. And holy smokes, can Cynthia write a love scene! Not only that, but the evolution of the dynamic between Rage and Joan and the corresponding changes in their sexy times were just so beautifully done. Yep. I'm hooked on this series!!!

Found this series by accident, and I'll be buying the rest!!! Dominant cyborg and submissive engineer were a perfect fit and a really good read.

A gifted copy was given in exchange for an honest review. (Indulgence Anthology) Cyborgs are brutal, killing machines. Created by humans to help them fight against invaders. However, they are not well cared but abused, tortured and decommissioned by humans. Only one human stands out to help them, a female called Joan. She is an engineer in a world of males who doesn’t take well her intrusion in his world. She is paired with Rage, a cyborg who is totally lethal. Will she be able to survive his hatred for humans? A great story, impossible to put it aside even for a minute. Fear, extreme violence, change into loyalty, love, sacrifice and sometimes even fun.
