Full of madcap hi-jinks, EXPLOSIONS, and adventures galore! This was yet again an all around fun story continuing to keep me happily entertained. So many characters all telling their story blended into a wonderful romp with lots of action and humor.  New loves found, old loves rekindled, hearts still healing over Books (sniffle, I miss that guy, too) and all while trying to combat an insane amount of danger from a variety of sources, including a sentient giant plant! And everyone trying not to annoy Sicarius. Except Amaranthe, of course. New characters introduced, old ones getting more fleshed out (though not figuratively enough for Maldynado's liking), and my all time favorite thing, a HAPPY ending FULL of promise for more.  Thanks Lindsay, this was the perfect Easter gift! I could have devoured it Sunday as soon as I received it, but chose to savor it and prolong what I knew would be a sweet agony upon finishing.  Oh NO! Now what am I going to do while waiting for the (better happen sooner rather than later) next book?!?

Just when I thought it was over... How many times do we wish there was still more when a series ends...we sit with a book hangover, hoping for a glimpse of the characters we've come to love. Well that is exactly what Lindsay Buroker did with Republic and I have say, I was thrilled! Buroker proves this fabulous continuation to what happens after Forged in Blood I & II. I was amazed with the character growth and the changes that are taking place. We are not only given a continuation of the story but also further plot possibilities of more to come. It is no secret, I'm a Buroker fan. I was captivated from page 1 till till the end. I highly recommend you jump into this fresh, funny, exciting world Amaranthe Lokdon and her friends.

It was wonderful to catch up with all of my favorite characters again, I couldn't put it down. Finally a modicum of happiness for Basilard. Some romantic progression for Sicarius and Amaranthe. I'm left here with my mind in a dither wondering whether Sicarius and Amaranthe ever have kids, does Basilard finally find love, does Maldynado ever get a statue? How is parenting a wild child affecting Sespian? What happened to Akstar? And that alien technology is still out there somewhere..do the Nurians have it? I re-read this entire series a LOT. I never get tired of it. I still sniffle over Books, laugh at Maldynado and yet feel his pain as his clowning hides a hurting heart. I love them all.

I read the Emperors Edge Series and though it was totally 5 stars wonderful, the ending left me wanting...It just was not especially satisfying to me... loose ends abounded...Republic was managed to tie up those loose ends and also managed to allow us the chance to get to know the Starcrest Family, get a chance to get to know the Republic, get to know Sespian better, and to enjoy everyone getting back together to save Stumps and the new Republic. That said, there is room there for more! New jobs, a new ward, 2 Starcrest children that should be allowed to show their talents! So much more could happen! Even a mountain with artifacts that is loaded with possible intrigue! I would love to see another book with the entire crew working together again!

I enjoyed every book. The author weaved a very interesting story line. The characters were such that they cultivated an interest in what was happening to them. Their growth was fascinating to watch as they developed. You will not regret reading these books. Enjoy them as much as I did.

Love the way the characters twine around each other like the tentacles of a sting ray. And the possibilities now available for future series. Thank you for the wonderful entertainment !

A wonderfully written saga of lighthearted missions in a world of different areas and characters. A series to be read and enjoyed by a variety of ages. Good work.

This book really highlighted the conclusion of the journey the characters were on. I loved how we got a deeper insight into amarathe and sicarious relationship. Great story, I only wish there was more!

The best books ever read! The only flaw is that there will be no more new adventures from this amazing group of survivors.

I was sad to have it come to an end. This might be one that I read a second time.

Thoroughly enjoyed it! It took me a while to start, but once I opened the first page, I didn't want to put it down. Buroker did a great job of bringing back familiar characters, but in new situations and plot developments. She also introduced new characters and 'grew' some of the old ones. Great installment of the series! I look forward to the next one!
