Not a poetry fan, you say? Not a problem .. because this book is not full of poetry. This is a fine example of Prose, the written or spoken form, without metrical structure. No roses are red here. This is a deep insightful book, all about love, the loss of love, the finding of love. The author writes that he wants to touch the reader's heart .... and he certainly touched mine. While reading this short collection of powerful words, it brought to mind my path through this world. I felt uplifted, happy, yet sad at times, too. These are beautiful words guaranteed to move the reader. This is collection of 12 .. my favorite being IF I COULD SING. I highly recommend this for anyone and everyone. Many thanks to the author who so graciously gifted me with this book. I look forward to his next book ... STELLAR.

Beautiful and Endearing Words. . . . I received this little book of poems today by the Author, Kevin Hollingsworth and a sweet signed message inside. All I can say is "Enjoyable"!! I loved the way Kevin had written these loving and wonderful collection of poems in a non-Shakespearian way and easy to understand. Your imagination can go many places when reading these little gems of words, But "love" is always surrounding each one. I look forward to more from Kevin in the near future and loved every word written . . . A Spoiler.... I loved "American Princess" ... After reading it allowed to my husband we both said at the same time? "Statue Of Liberty" .. Highly suggest this one! Author, Catherine Lyon of Lyon Book Promotions

Romance With A Touch of Love is a very emotionally expressive book of poetry. There are 12 poems within the covers and each one delves into an emotion surrounding love, loss, wonderment, and of course, romance. The book is not lengthy and the poems are light and airy not cumbersome. I enjoyed each poem written in this book. The poem that stands out to me the most, however, is death and marriage. I have been through a divorce and while I was the one who left, the divorce and ending of the marriage was very much like a death. There are specific steps that I went through; mourning, sadness, anger, grief, guilt, etc. Ive always been a lover of poetry and have even had a poem of mine published back when I was in High School. I was very excited to be able to review a book of poetry and until the opportunity arose, I had not even thought of adding it to the genres that I would like to review. If you have the chance to read this book of poetry I encourage you to do so! Actual rating is a 4.5

An amazing offering of emotional prose. Presented as little insights into love, these words are moving and touch the soul in a way that makes me confront all of the same emotions and feelings. Even the sections on loneliness and death are more about love and life and the sadness that it can bring. I would definitely recommend this. I hope that if you do read this it touches you as well. ** I received a free copy of the book for an honest review.**

These are poems/prose written by Kevin Hollingsworth about the subject of love. Of being in love, falling in love and the loneliness of love. This is a brief book, barely twenty pages, and I couldnt connect with any of these. There is talk of beauty but I dont think this goes as far as actually describing the beauty to us. American Princess is maybe my favourite of the bunch, as the title is unique and the poem glorifies the woman in an anthem type way. The wording is nicely put but I dont think this offers anything new on the subject and the poems could have maybe been written into two or three poems altogether.

So touching! This book has something for every heart. It details love in a poetic way that everyone can relate to, whether its new love, old love, or heartbreak. My only complaint (and its far from a real complaint) is that the book is just too short. I was riding this roller coaster journey with the author and feeling each section so deeply, that I was disappointed to reach the end so quickly. I wanted more.....but I am so glad that I was able to experience what was written.

Romance with a Touch of Love by Kevin Hollingsworth Contemporary odes to a sad and beautiful world Kevin Hollingsworth comes up with a book of sharp and sweet poems in prose, or, rather, short poetical stories, and leads us to a new, contemporary, exciting approach of perceiving lyrical and poetical with a pinch of great taste and old-fashioned wisdom. Working with short, concentrated, bravely specific format is indeed paying off – the magnetic world of sad and beautiful words, which Kevin Hollingsworth had created. Words opens up and invites us in, and we gladly find ourselves in a relaxing and absorbing flow of the imaginary. Odes to joy, tender, silence, solitude, compassion, beauty, and love, these poems in prose express sensations and feelings in unexpected yet remarkably appealing, healing and meditative ways. Although very (very) small, this is the world you would want to re-visit. Thanks.

Reviewed by Karen P. for Readers Favorite Kevin Hollingsworth has written poetry to touch the heart of those in love - or those who wish to be in love. In "Romance With A Touch of Love", the author seeks to share his feelings on the essence of being human and the variable feelings surrounding attempts to love, to be loved and to lose love. The author writes of how we all romanticize our loves such that they become royalty or superhuman beings. He writes of how even when love is lost, the human spirit wants to try again for that special feelings that make us all appreciated and "special" to others. One of the most poignant verses is about death and marriage. In this writing, the author talks about how the death of a spouse or lover nearly always has the effect of taking one by surprise and how, little by little, the effect can be overlooked when the solitude and silence set in. He tells of the fears of idleness and unhappiness that beset those who have loved and lost. The author does a marvelous job of baring his soul so that others may feel the joy and the pain of investing in love. Mr. Hollingsworth believes that hatred has no place in a loving relationship and that love always gives the promise of acceptance and delight. The verses are lyrical and they speak to the human conditions of hope, investment and despair which always promises the hope of new love.
