Reviewed by Janessa, Age 15 for Citybook Review Having read the entire series The Chronicles of Vladimir Tod, it was exhilarating to read more from Heather Brewer and her enticing world of Vampires. Joss is a fourteen-year-old slayer who has been dealt a tragic set of cards throughout his life, having lost both his parents in a house fire. Failing to kill Vladmir Tod in the first book, Joss is getting a second chance and has been tasked by the Slayer Society to find the serial killing vampire wreaking havoc on New York City. By Society laws, Joss should actually be slated for death, but somehow he is given a second chance to prove himself and save the city. “And cute is definitely something you want on your Slayer resume, kid.” Joss is almost too tormented of a character at times and is written in such a way much like Stephanie Meyer wrote the character Jacob, battling inner beasts, falling in between rules, and being hated one minute and liked the next. However, this works great for YA reading and allows for a wider audience. *This book was provided in exchange for an honest review* *You can view the original review at City Book Review
