Let me start by saying I LOVE this series! It is hands down my favorite series I read! And I read a book every 2 days. I also reread, which is what I did with this series several times! Now, that being said, I was very disappointed in this book. It felt like nothing big actually happened. Mercy and Adam's roles in this book in my opinion was minimal. Most of the book was about describing the scene and people. So much so that I started to skim most of it, I don't do this very often. I tell everyone that I can to read Mercy Thompson Novels, unfortunately this is one book I will not be pushing. Hopefully the next book will be just as great as all her others! I will still keep my eye out for the next Mercy Thompson book!

First, I had a bit of trouble wanting to pay $14, but did anyway. Then saw there was 288 pages and hoped with great intent that Patricia was able to buy excellent horse feed due to my money. Im a horse woman and know hay and pellets are extremely costly. It was an interesting story with lots of history of Prague and the old country. Having read stories on the Golem made it easier to understand but the manitou theory made me have to research its Native American origin. Ms Briggs, you owe me a hard copy since this is on my Nook and for $14 I want to sit a book on my nite stand. With fondest regards Candice Hawkins Texas

This book was the most slow and confusing out of all the Mercy books. I'm still confused about submissive Alpha leaders. I didn't think that was possible. It makes no sense! And the confusion ruined what little enjoyment I had reading the very expensive book.

This is a wonderful series that I have highly enjoyed over the years. Sadly this book was just a bit of a let down. It doesn't feel like it did much to advance the story of the series as a whole. I hope the next book will be a bit more adventurous.

Patricia Briggs is one tongue very few authors that I will pay more then $3.99 for their books. This one was not one of my faves. I did like that we got to read from both Mercy and Adam's point of view. What I hated was the dry dialog about history. That is the reason I have this 3 stars. A good chunk of the book was history in one Character and the city of Prague and something that lived there. Then the end was rushed after a long, drawn out book.

I can't get enough of Patricia Briggs! She's one of my favorite authors! The book was action packed and I couldn't put it down! There's a surprise twist I never seen coming. I can't wait for her next book

Mercy Thompson once again proves she is the queen of chaos in this tenth book of the series. Brutally attacked and kidnapped, Mercy is in the hands of Iacopo Bonorata, the Lord of the Night, who pretty much rules most of the vampire world in Europe. After escaping his clutches, her next adventures while trying to get back to Adam lead to battles and mayhem where Mercy always seems to be at the center. Where Mercy goes, trouble will definitely follow and supernatural heads will roll…literally. Coyote has his fine hand or paw in the mix as well while Mercy proves again her worth as his daughter. Adam sets out with Stefan, Marsilia, and some other magical folks to rescue Mercy while keeping the delicate balance of power between werewolves and vampires in Europe intact by not causing an all-out, devastating war. Adam is about to come out of his skin not being able to go immediately to Mercy, partly because she was gravely injured, though he knows she can take care of herself. While I miss them being together, their long separation does afford the opportunity for us to see Mercy through Adam’s and other characters’ eyes which adds a lot of dimension to her personality and the interconnected relationships with the people most important to her. Mercy has had a lot of tragedy in her life, but also now, a lot of love which shines through this story while not being the main focus, it is a strong under current. Her relationship with Adam continues to grow and flourish even when they are far apart and through the wolf bond, although initially it is blocked for a time; they are always connected to one another in hearts and minds. It’s very clear they are soulmates whose love will endure no matter what life and supernatural creatures throw at them. I thoroughly enjoyed this book which has quite a few thrills, chills, and a very clever surprise that will amuse and please long time Mercy fans quite a bit. It is such a pleasure when a new book comes out in a favorite long running series that is so good I read it twice before reviewing. Fans will be well pleased with this newest addition.

You know there have been very few book series that I keep up with. I'm happy to say that Mercy Thompson series is one I'm always looking forward to a new installment. Even the spin off series Alpha and Omega, I've been catching up on as well. What can I say about this series that I haven't said already? Mercy is still awesome, check, Adam is still Adam, check and Stefan I still like. The other characters and how the author writes them is interesting too. I'll admit that at first, it was a little confusing, but the more I read the more I got into it. I never get tired of this series honestly, can't wait for the next one.

Mercy Thompson does Europe as only Mercy Thompson would. Thanks to a sadistic vampire, a golem, a witch, and the ghosts of Prague. Thank you, Patricia Briggs, for another amazing addition to the series.

Wow ! What a book, another Mercy Thompson great success. It's filled with laughter even as Mercy is fighting for her life. It's definitely worth the time it takes to read.

I was impressed bye the way the characters ations fit the plot and the plot move swiftly but not in consistently. Magic and fantasy were not employed randomly
