About the Author

The first story I ever wrote and had published anywhere was a harrowing tale of beloved comic strip favorite, Ziggy, saving the Seattle Space Needle. I was about 11, copyright wasn't a thing I knew about back then. I've always loved writing, and it has always been a part of my life even when it wasn't a focus. At one of my last full-time jobs, a colleague and I often treated the office to Donuts on Fridays and the random but frequent "Nacho Tuesday." The announcement emails that I sent out were my creative outlet. By the time I left the company the mailing list for "The Krispy Emails" (we usually got Krispy Kreme donuts) was huge and mostly made up of coworkers that had no interest in donuts or nachos, but just enjoyed reading the stories that announced yummy treats a few cubicles away. I couldn't do this without my loving wife, Nicole.

Let me say right off that as soon as I finished this book I bought the second one, read it, loved it, and pre-ordered the third! The captain and crew may be rogues but they have lines they won't cross and a sometimes shaky but still present moral compass. I love the diverse and alien coming together to make a formidable team. Great book! I'll have another, so more if you please author!

this, to me, was a very enjoyable book. it moved right along and held my interest all the way through. if you like sci-fi, you will enjoy this fast paced story.

I just finished reading Space Rogues; loved it! Engaging story with characters that have the kind of realness to their varied personalities that has you liking and rooting for them from the moment you meet them. It's not a complicated story, but it is well told with an interesting take how humans, at least this one human, makes it into space and how he becomes the unlikely but likable and surprisingly competent rogue captain of his ship, "The Ghost." I look forward to reading more of John Wilker's books.

Some people memorize Shakespeare; I am memorizing lines from this book they are so funny. The plot is fine, but it is the comedy that makes this a great read. The popcorn scene about put me on the floor. I was reading on a flight and the person next to me asked what I was reading to make me laugh so much. She was taken aback when I said SF! Yeah, there are a few typos and grammar issues and overall no it will not be classic in SF much less literature in general, but if you are looking for a fun, quick read then you've found it with this book. And I really liked how he made everything else in space seem normal versus the "must be human thing." [Read it and you will understand the last reference.]

The plot is simplistic and boting. The book is also full of grammatical errors.
