Ms. Abbott does it again! These mafia hitmen stories are filled with action, intrigue, romance and sex! I love the relationship between Max & Olivia. The additional characters, Maggie & Felix, are an extra bonus. Very good story! I was given a copy of this book for an honest review.

Max is gymnastic coach that teaches College in Paris , He is an ex hitman, a Russian hottie , and I think he is lonely and broken.Olivia (Liv) is a gymnast from a small town in North Carolina that get chosen to attend college in Paris. Liv is young and very sheltered and then gets thrown into Paris where she meets her room mate Maggie another young sheltered woman. The first night these two ladies decide to meet up with Will the young man that Liv met on the plane ride, and their world is completely turned upside down. Max shows up to class and notices his Oliva is missing on the first day of class which he finds very strange a he has a bad feeling about her and her roommate missing. Max finds Oliva with help of his techie friend but Maggie is gone. Max has to back into a killer and he starts feeling more human around Liv. I really liked the story it was very fast paced lots of action and twists. Max when he is around Oliva he becomes so different, his heart definitely softens. Liv she is a great character that really grew up fast in this book , her friendship with Maggie is instant and unwavering from the beginning which I respect so much .I really wish I could have had more time with Liv and Max to see their relationship bloom. Alexis Abbott writes a perfect Alpha badboy like no other.

This was a great story! Very well written! Max is a gymnastics coach at the Paris university and he recruits Liv and Maggie. Both girls are a little sheltered and looking to enjoy Paris and their freedom. Liv was immediately drawn to Max but is thrown off by his cold demeanor when he offers her this opportunity. Max is trying to keep his distance professionally. Liv meets a guy on the plane that seems to be good until he tries to steal a kiss way to quickly, she then takes off to meet up with her roommate, Maggie. Later on, she receives an email from this guy, apologizing for moving to fast and inviting her to a party at a bar later. She ignores her instincts and quickly the two get into trouble. When they don't show up for training the next day, Max knows something is wrong and goes to investigate. I loved how the story flowed. I was pulled in from the very beginning and just got more and more involved. The characters played a large part in this, but the way the story was written did as well. There is plenty of action and intrigue to keep you involved and wondering what is going to happen next and how everything is going to work out. The sex is explicit but not very frequent, which completely makes sense with the story. I loved how the relationship was built between Max and Liv. It made the story and the sex work for me. After Liv's experience with trafficking, and her inexperience with boys before that, it makes sense for things to be slower. I loved the connection and safety that was built upon. Max makes her feel safe and never pushes her. This story does deal with the hard topic of sex trafficking. This does not delve super deeply into details of what happens to Liv's friend Maggie. We get more of an overview of what happens. Max talks about it and gives most of the details, as he sets out to rescue the girls and stop the trafficking ring. I thought the topic was handled well. It absolutely gives you enough for the story but it doesn't get graphic. I really enjoyed this story and I would love to see more of this group, especially Maggie get her happy ending. I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

I received this ARC from the author in exchange for an honest review. Olivia is thrilled to be chosen to study in France. Max is a gymnastics coach with a past, and he is the one that chose Olivia and the other young women in the scholarship program. After arriving in Paris and meeting her new roommate the two girls decide to go out on the town. Olivia has received an email from the handsome man she met on the plane, so the girls decide to meet him at a bar, but the man has plans for the young woman. Two of Max's students have disappeared and he enlists the help of a friend to find them. Wow, exciting and suspenseful read, I loved Olivia and Max. Fantastic book.

I received an ARC of this novel in exchange for an honest review and here it is: 1 star. I truly wanted to like this novel, but I had problems with the story from the very beginning. Since the novel opens with the hitman single-handedly slaughtering an entire roomful of men/thugs, the simple fact that he walks away relatively unscathed was a little too Dirk Pitt-ish for me. We next meet the heroine, Olivia, at her high school graduation. She's an 18-year-old gymnast in Toast, NC, a tiny town. As an only child, her parents dote on her, and she's getting ready to attend a banquet, knowing there will be scouts present. Because I studied and am a fan of gymnastics, the author should have done more research. Female gymnasts start very young, often before they've reached double-digits in age. After the banquet, a large, brooding man approaches her and introduces himself as Maksim Pavlenko (Max). He offers her a spot on an elite gymnastics company affiliated with the Sorbonne, in Paris, and a full scholarship to the Universite de Paris. He wants instant acceptance or he's leaving, she's given no time to discuss this with her parents, nor does she ask to see any form or ID before giving her acceptance. This is not how the system really works--plain and simple. By the time she arrives in France, she's met a guy on the flight over, Will, who spends some time showing her around Paris, but hen he tries to kiss her, she runs, which seems to be her typical response. In this day and age it was also a stretch to believe that an attractive 18-year-old made it all the way through high school without ever being kissed. She then meets her roommate, Maggie, who turns out to be the sheltered daughter of wealthy parents, well-traveled, well-heeled, yet also very innocent. Within 24-hours of arriving in Paris, the two young girls, despite any of Olivia's many misgivings, find themselves drunk, drugged, gagged and locked in a basement--apparently victims of some sort of white slavery ring--one of her captors being that nice guy she met on the plane. Really? What are the chances? When the girls don't show up for their first training session, Max goes out looking for them. His interest in Olivia is obviously more than that of a trainer/student relationship and by the time I realized the age and experience difference between them, I'd simply had enough, and did not continue reading this novel to the end. While I've seen many positive reviews of this novel, it simply wasn't the book for me--there were far too many things about it that just didn't ring true.
