Overview

Lyla Summers hates men. Okay, maybe hate is a strong word ... Lyla intensely dislikes men. Her father has let her down her whole life. Her brother betrayed her in the worst way possible. And her past relationship experiences with men have been less than great. Lyla is focussing all her energy into her band, Vintage, so when they receive an offer to sign with TMS Records, it seems that things are finally turning around for her. The last thing she wants is a man getting in the way. Tom Carter loves women. Okay, love might be pushing it ... Tom enjoys screwing lots of women. When tragedy befalls his best friend, Tom finds himself making a promise to the big man upstairs - he'll change his ways, if he saves the woman his best friend loves. Tom's prayer is answered. Now he has to change. Which means no sleeping around. After Vintage's manager breaks her leg skiing, Tom steps in as tour manager, and Lyla finds herself on tour with the man whore of rock. Put one perpetually horny Tom and one sex resistant Lyla together, equals a recipe for disaster. Or so you'd think... But an unexpected friendship is formed. A closeness neither of them expected. Putting one chastity belt and one lamp that is in desperate need of rubbing, to the test. Will the sex storm that is Tom Carter, finally find himself tamed by the rock chick with a hardened heart, or will he go back to his womanizing ways...?

Oh boy! Tom Carter gives Jake Wethers a run for his money in TTS. I MIGHT MIGHT actually love Tom more! (Shhh don't tell Jake) Once you witness him watching Jake at Tru's bedside, all your misconceptions about him will fade and then your heart will break when it's revealed why he lives the lifestyle he does. Tom and Lyla are forced together during Vintage's tour and the sexual tension is off the charts. When they're together the pages melt!! They agree to a fling for the length of the tour but will that be enough?! A great end to a great series.

~Reviewed by ANGELA & posted at Under the Covers Book Blog TMS has signed a new band called Vintage and Tom, TMS bass guitarist is to manage them during their tour.  The catch is that Tom has the hots for her.  Can this “player” stay professional when the lead singer of Vintage is the very first woman who ever turned him down?  Of course not.  He is intrigued and he has no plans on giving this quest up. At first I didn’t know how I feel about Tom Carter. He is an arrogant, think-he’s-God’s-gift-to-women, often a jerk, womanizing ass.  He is a chick magnet and that annoyed me even more.  However, I was drawn to him just as I detest him.  Tom is hot.  He exudes confidence, charm, sex appeal, and he is skilled when it comes to his hands and mouth.  The man can strum the guitar, sing like a rock star and sweet talk a woman like there’s no tomorrow….and yes, he can also use this hands and mouth skillfully in bed, among other things.  He is also the man every woman would love to tame and claim as their own.  Okay, I admit, I am one of them. I actually loved Layla.  While she’s a rock star on stage; she is every bit as the girl next door.  She’s sweet, nonchalant and she is a jeans-and-t-shirt kind of girl!  She is also the first girl to have turned down the famous “sex God” of TMS. Her broken hearted past made her who she is and she is well respected by her band members.  Off stage, I thought she was cute and on stage, well, she rocked it. Layla and Tom’s romance was rocky and that’s to say the least.  They definitely had ups and down and all the feelings, be it happy, sad, annoyance or lust was felt through the pages.  You can also feel Layla and Tom’s attraction for each other and at it showed in all their love scenes!  So many times, I felt giggly like college girl because of the loving attention they gave each other. These two are definitely insatiable together.  Did you notice the icons above? I do have to warn you that there is an almost cheating incident in this book. If we’re talking technicalities, well, no, it’s not really cheating.  One thing I can say is that Taming the Storm is a rock Star novel.  There will always be groupies be it man or woman. Temptation, jealousy, and trust will always be an issue.  Though I’m not a fan of these types of situation, I was able to deal with it in this book. Ms. Towle did a great job in making me love the protagonist who did the awful deed. Overall, another great read from Samantha Towle.  Just like its previous installments, Taming the Storm is full of stage drama, complicated relationships and sizzling rock star love scenes.  I can’t wait to read more of Ms. Towle’s work.

Firecracker Worthy!! I loved getting to know Tom! He is the guy that likes to sleep around and not ashamed about what he does but is always upfront about it. I loved him falling for Lyla. He was able to get over his issues and open his heart to her. Lyla wasn't without her issues but I understand with all the bull she had to go through. I enjoyed her firecracker attitude with Tom. I want more of them!

Taming the Storm (The Storm, #3) by Samantha Towle (Goodreads Author)read in July, 2014  Read My rating:1 of 5 stars2 of 5 stars3 of 5 stars4 of 5 stars[ 5 of 5 stars ]I was excited for TAMING THE STORM! Very excited!! I am a big Samantha Towle and Storm Series fan!! Knowing how Tom was as a person going into this book had me curious. Being witness to his vulnerable side had me weak in the knees. I could almost feel the tenderness he had for Lyla eminating from each page. Yes it was hot, yes it was heartfelt! What I liked most about this story(besides the interactions with Jake, and meeting Lyla's band Vintage), was the pure love story that drove it all home (plus some intricate and orginal details of character's backgrounds and excellent choices in music to accompany each and every mood)! I am looking forward to reading more about these folks, as thankfully this is not the end of the TMS boys, And in Tom and Lyla's case, this a very special beginning indeed!! Read This Book!! :)
