This was an excellent book and I am looking forward to the next one.

Nice premise, little generic adventure/revenge factor there but still entertaining. The use of magic while unique, did not seem very effective as it relied on written words...what if it got erased or destroyed? then you have no magic and are stuck, but in this book there was no such danger the rags seemed extremely durable even under threat of fire. Also the main villain that they had to defeat was very one dimensional and at the end was not as powerful as first described. This book would have been better with a stronger, more developed villain, a few more modifications on the magical aspect. And more character development on frith. Or the author should have made Sebastian the main character instead.

There were a few places where the writing sort of faltered while the story kept going. Otherwise it was pretty cool, like reading about a good D&D campaign.

I found this book to be very tasteful. Full of action and adventure. Also very detailed for my imagination to follow. I can't wait for the next one in January.
