The Counterfeit Bride by Liberty Blake

Texas rancher and bar owner Cassidy Flynn is shocked to learn the bride’s name in an upcoming high society wedding – Cassiopeia Dolmides. Cassidy is a woman of secrets; the deepest is the identity she was born with and thought she had escaped long ago. If this bride is impersonating Cassidy, what trouble will that cause Cassidy and her infant son?

Greek tycoon Theron Christofides needs to gain possession of Dolmides Cruise Lines and the little Greek island where it left a shipwrecked eyesore. A lot of people are at risk without his intervention. Old man Dolmides will sell on one condition: Theron must marry Dolmides’ illegitimate daughter. Seeing no other way to rescue the island’s people, Theron agrees to sacrifice himself and his future.

As Theron stands at the altar with his bride-to-be, a fiery-haired woman in snakeskin boots and a cowboy hat interrupts their vows by calling his bride a fraud. In order for the wedding to continue, Theron must convince Cassidy Flynn to drop her lawsuit.

Can he withstand Cassidy’s allure while he gains her cooperation? Or will they both be consumed by the fire of desire?

I LOVED this book! From the first page to the last. Cassidy went to Greece to stop HER wedding. Theron was smitten from the minute Cassidy asked if it was too late for objections. She had a big one! The woman at the alter was using her name and she wasn't getting married! This is a wonderful journey for both characters. There are many laugh out loud moments through out this book. Also has poignant moments where Cassidy wonders why she was given away and never acknowledged by her parents. From Texas to Greece and back again. This journey is beyond worthy of reading. Looking forward to more of this series.

Cute and funny. Not too steamy.

This is not a cliffhanger. Liberty Blake wrote a book with fantasy and dreams. Cassidy was a study of miracles and wishes. She fought to keep herself safe and her son secure. Theron had to save the Greek island he was born on. To get the island, he had to marry Costas' daughter. Although he wasn't attracted to her. He had to marry Casseiopia to give his people a chance. There is mystery and tension in the book. There are miracles and trust. It is an adult version of a fairytale!!

Were we reading the same book? The story dragged. The characters were not relatable. It was difficult keeping track of what was going on. Not what I would call "very good". I gave up less than a third of the way through. Good thing it was free.

What a delightful story. I couldn't put it down. I've enjoyed all that I have read by Ms. Blake so far and I can't to "meet" her other brides and grooms.

A nice story that although engages you from the first never quite hooks you into caring about the story.

This book just dragged on and on. Way to much inner monologue and it was hard to understand what was going on with all the skipping around. I couldn’t even finish the book. I’m glad it was free.

This was a great book. It starts with Cassidy stopping a wedding because the bride says she is Cassiopeia Dolmides. But that can't be because that is who Cassidy is. Cassidy was a day old when she was sent to live with Grammie. Cassidy had a good life. She was dearly loved and had a good friend who looked after her. Everything was great until her Aunt and Uncle moved in with them when she was a teen. Then the uncle kept trying to seduce her so she ran away after Grammie died. Cassidy owned a ranch as well as a bar in Texas, where she never put up with anything from the customers. I loved that she was a strong, independent woman. When she learns that a wedding is taking place in Greece and she is the bride, she heads there to stop it. When she gets there, she finds her cousin pretending to be her so that she can marry billionaire Theron Christofides. Turns out that the wedding was part of a business deal. This book had me hoping for the couple to fall in love but wondering how that could happen when Theron was so sure Cassidy was the imposter. Then it had me laughing, too. This is an adventure you shouldn't miss.

Good story

I thoroughly enjoyed Cassidy. She has motsy, lots of spunk with an attitude. The story itself is good but does stall a few times with excessive inner turmoil, repeating the same thing over and over. This wouldn't have been so bad if shortly after on of those ramblings the story just ended. The epilogue is great but didn't make up for the abrupt end.

Great book.

Its a cute story with a lot of potential, but then bogged down by too much inner monologue and over the top cultural cliches. She's way melodramatic, which is what the climax was based on, and then unapologetic for being an a*hole.

I enjoyed this romantic tale very much. My only complaint is that the conclusion felt very rushed. It seemed to take long, slow route getting there and then - boom - two years have gone by. I would've enjoyed seeing that develop more fully.

My first read by Liberty Blake and what a wonderful, emotionally satisfying, riveting read it was! I was instantly captivated from the opening scene with our main character, Cassidy, derailing an oh so elegant upscale wedding in Greece, and the colorful description of her attire from her stetson down to her cowboy boots. This book had me crying one minute, laughing the next, and angrily cursing certain characters out loud. I've cleared a permanent space on my favorites shelf for this book and I strongly recommend it to all fans of great storytelling featuring unforgettable characters!

I enjoyed this book. Cute story line, fun characters. A little hard to follow at times, almost like English wasn't the author's first language. Worth the read!
