About the Author

Lorena Angell lives in arguably the most beautiful location in the world, nestled deep in the scenic Columbia River Gorge of the Pacific Northwest, USA. When she's not writing, she enjoys reading, bar-b-queuing, exploring the Pacific coast, and hiking in the Cascade Mountain Range with her family. She has yet to run across Sasquatch, but you can bet when she does she'll write him/her into a story. The Unaltered series by Lorena Angell is currently being optioned for film and is likened to The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins, YA crossover author, Cora Carmack, along with Greg Hurwitz, Sudan Dennard, and V.E. I have loved this series, but there seems to be a large portion of a short book dedicated to overpromoting how people that don't believe in homosexuality should be ashamed, and also multiple instances making christianity looking like it's for the emotionally unstable. I actually found it pretty offensive after the second occurance of that in the book. I understand the first time was important for plot development, but the second was about as uncalled for as The Pilot starting out with a booty call scene. I'm sure others feel that way about stereotypes too. It's just difficult to swallow from a modern author. It also took up a lot of time that could have been spent on moving the plot forward. This book is quite short.

I guess I am one of the few that loved the book. I did'nt get the impression that the author was bashing Christian beliefs. I am a Christian and I was not offended. I believe that the author brought to the forefront that many atrocities are committed in society in the name of religion. I think the author covered the topic very well. Although the main character disagreed with Christian beliefs she was tolerant and sympathetic. I think the book was very well written and it was exciting and fun to read.

This would be as great as Harry Potter movies!

I was so disappointed with this next installment of this series. The author seemed to be clearly focused on presenting the dangers of organized religion in a very biased and one sided view. Over and over again she tears down Christian views using this book as a platform to bash Christianity and people who believe in God. She obviously and blantantly portrays those that wish to share their beliefs as forceful, uncaring and unforgiving, as well as intolerant, which is simply not true for most Christians. I will not be reading any more books from this author. Her "intolerance" for anyone that has beliefs different from her own is simply unbearable and was very offensive to me.

this series has quickly become one of my favorites. it's captivating and suspensful, you are never quite sure what direction it's going to go next and I really enjoy that. I think one of my favorite things about how this series is written is the wisdom that some of the characters hold.
