The author provided me with a copy of the book for a fair and honest review. Just by the synopsis the author provided I was intrigued and looking forward to reading it. Then, he told me himself in an email, and I quote, “Don't worry though, my book is nothing like twilight, I know there are a lot of vampire lovey dovey stories out there now. Mine should be different enough to stand out in the genre.” I will agree; it does stand out!
After Donnie endured a really rough and trying year; losing both of his parents, and all but giving up on life himself, he meets the beautiful and elusive (when it comes to relationships) Abbie. Although he is smart has a problem with history, and Abbie happens to tutor the subject, so he signs up for sessions. This was the break he needed, and soon they fell in love.
After high school, Abbie went off to college and Donnie became a mechanic. Things were great, until Abbie went to Florida on a vacation trip she won. It was supposed to be a weeklong “girls” trip with her friends. However, someone had different plans for her. She was given the choice to be turned into a vampire, or have all those that she loved be killed. She chose to become a vampire. After doing so she went back home and hung herself to give the impression that she was dead and there was even a funeral.
Donnie, however, did not believe that the events were true and he set out to find the truth. This was when his spirit guide leads him to “the spot” where he crashes his car and falls to his impending death. As he is dying his beloved Abbie appears. She sees that he will not live, and in a state of frenzy, she decided to feed from him.
In the aftermath of the feeding, and to Abbie’s surprise, Donnie soon awakes. Neither of them can believe it, and soon they find out that Donnie is not a typical vampire himself. Donnie vows to protect Abbie once they learn that she is in danger and is being hunted by the “bloodline” that turned her. Little did either one of them know the war that was about to ensue.
I honestly did not know what to expect when I was getting ready to read this novel. I think I was expecting more of a vampire horror type novel, but I was pleasantly surprised that it wasn’t. I truly could not, nor did I want to, put this book down. It had me captivated from the start.
I wanted to give this book a 5 star rating, but the reason why I didn’t is because there were too many errors; additional words in sentences and the in chapter “scene” change breaks was not used until the later chapters in the book, which made some parts of the book a little confusing. Some of it could have been because of formatting issues, but some were probably editing oversights.
Aside from that, like I said before, this book was able to draw me in and get to my emotions in multiple areas of the story. Because of this, this book, and this author, has quickly become one of my favorites. I cannot wait to sink my eyes into the next installment of the series.

Donnie had a wonderful life, until he lost his parents, he is a bit of a loner with one best friend. Then he meets Abbie, she is beautiful and in his eyes perfect. Soon Abbie had an unthinkable thing happened to her, she was bitten by a vampire. Donnie is turned by Abbie and they plan to spend eternity together.
They find out they and many others are Foundlings, those that are orphaned and do not descend from any particular vampire clan. They must learn fight to survive. They also need to learn how to fit into society without being discovered. They meet some friends and a lot of enemies. Each night becomes dangerous as they flee and try to find a place to fit in. Abbie finds she is being hunted by a very dangerous clan, and Donnie will stop at nothing to save his young bride.
Filled with action, some native American legends, romance and vampire wars I found The Foundlings different from all the other vampire books. I really enjoyed this read, i could not put it down. There was a lot of surprises and some twists in this story, it was not predictable and I love that in a book. I would love to read more By R.M. Garcia.

Where to start with this book? My goodness. It is unlike anything I’ve ever read before that’s for sure. I have to say that The Foundlings is definitely refreshing.
At first, during the opening scene, I had a hard time following, but once I got to the first chapter things immediately picked up. I didn’t have to read half way through the book for the plot to kick into full gear (thank God for that). I was instantly drawn to the main characters and it didn’t take long for me to fall in love with Donnie and Abbie. I mean, seriously, how could you not fall in love with them? They were perfect for each other and I think they complimented each other very well.
One of the things that I truly enjoyed was the diversity of religions. R.M. Garcia did a great job at both separating and bringing the them together at just the right time. The plot was unlike anything I’ve ever read before. Granted, I’ve read my fair share of vampire books before, but this one was uniquely different. I was fascinated by the different bloodlines and the abilities that came with each one.
It was incredibly gratifying to read something new and different. There are times when new and different does not work well together in a story, but in this case it made the entire plot pop. Though I will say that I was devastated by the many tragedies along the way—one of them in particular—I kind of understood where the author was going with it.
Overall, The Foundlings was a very interesting, completely invigorating, and fresh read that I readily enjoyed. I can honestly say that I am looking forward to reading the next book in the series.

I have read many vampires novels and this book rates very high on my list. The characters were all very well developed. The main characters were deep and well thought out. The story moved at a good pace and seldom was I bored or lost. R.M Garcia has written a simply amazing and riveting story and I am looking forward to the next installment in the series. You simply must pick up a copy. I highly recommend it for any Vampire enthusiast.

Writer R.M Garcia has turned out an amazing story. A book that I finished in 2 days, and I usually take my sweet time reading a book. But I wanted to know what was going to happen next. The book starts out as a touching drama, but soon unfolds into something magical. Abbie and Donnie make for two wonderful characters that you really care about throughout the novel. They are two characters that really seem real, you can relate to them and their friends. Their adventures that span the world and the heavens will amaze. The action sequences are written beautifully really making you feel the action, making you feel something is at stake. The story become grand it takes you places you could imagine. I cannot say enough about this book without starting to sound like a broken record. Do yourself a favor and get a REAL vampire book and read The Foundlings by R.M Garcia now.

In the vampire world where their kind is hunted mercilessly, Espee, Donnie, Nox, Abbie, and few other Foundlings stand to protect their members. As the leader of the den, Espee has taught them to survive, to hide, and to avoid detection from the formal Bloodlines that try to exterminate them. But until when will they run and hide against the formal Bloodlines, especially the Reich? Will they be able to find their own specific place in the vampire world? Readers can find out in author R.M. Garcia's The Foundlings.
Every vampire originated from a Bloodline Source, and each Bloodline could only birth a certain number of vampires from its Source. As it turned out, Foundlings complicated the formal Bloodlines' plans and their possible numbers. For every risen Foundling, there would be one less vampire available to the corresponding Bloodline. Every formal Bloodline down the line, from the Reich all the way to the Ancient Old Ones, cared not for Foundlings. Maybe they were afraid that one day the Foundlings would outnumber them or that one of them might discover the secret of making more vampires. Either way, to most of the Bloodlines, these bastard offspring, these "accidents," were simply intolerable.
Most Foundlings never survived more than a few nights, because whenever any new ones were discovered, the formal Bloodlines would swiftly massacre them. But Espee protects every Foundling, teaches them the vampire basics - including skills like how to avoid detection, how to feed without killing, and how to defend against attacks. A chilling encounter however, will create tremors in their existence when Abbie is abducted by the Reich, one of the formal Bloodlines that first appeared around 1945. The entire world believes that the Nazis are gone, but in truth they are stronger than ever and now immortal! They must run, chase, and get Abbie from their hands before they turn her into what they want her to become. But will they be able to outlive their opponents? Where will this event lead them and the den? The Foundlings tells all.
