This is a novel about women living together as they age. Together, they share support - emotionally, mentally, emotionally, and financially. This is an idea about choosing to live the last part of your life assisted by other women who are intelligent, vibrant, alive women. The women in The Howell House are supportive and caring of each other, and they aren't beholden to family members who must care for them. For as long as they breathe, they choose to be fully alive with the help of each other.
