About the Author

James Wharton is an American author of historical fiction, humorous, and supernatural novels and an Adjunct Professor of Economics and Marketing. At age 14 he left home to work for three years as a page boy in the U.S. Capitol in Washington, D.C. He spent four years in the military, one in the Viet Nam War. His interest in history is a result of his family background, experience in Washington, D.C. and the military. Wharton traces his lineage to the Revolutionary War with several ancestors serving at Valley Forge. He was born on February 22 (the same month and day as George Washington) in St. Louis, Missouri. He also has a strong background in aviation and archeology. Wharton attended Capitol Page School in the Library of Congress and graduated from Washington University in St. Louis. He is a nephew of the American poet Will Wharton. He married his childhood sweetheart, Carol Jo Simon, whom he loved before they ever met.
