About the Author

While teaching some of the world's great books to high school students in Mississippi and Tennessee, Ms. McKinney decided to try her hand at writing about some of the characters she had nurtured in her imagination for several years. She enrolled in creative writing and began her first novel. These days, she continues writing; substitute teaches; teaches four-year-old Sunday School; helps coach the local high school tennis team; "reads 'til her eyes bleed"; finds joy in her circle of friends; recently bid farewell to Babycakes, her cat of almost 24 years; and most of all spends as much time as possible with her family. Her second book, BOUND FOR EBENEZER, recently joined THE LADIES OF SHALLOT on her bookshelf. She invites you to contact her at

I am so excited to honor the author, Glinda McKinney (alias Jeannie McKinney). The story is very descriptive and spellbinding. Her artistic ability in writing will draw you into each character and keep you enthralled from start to finish. The attention to detail and enlightening descriptions allowed me to feel as if I was part of the story and the families within it. On my second time reading the book I was just as aroused and attentive to each page as if I hadn't read it before. It is definitely a well written story that will keep you reading and not want to put it down until the end. It's secrets of love, passion, persons of interest and mystery will continue to draw you in with every word. Glinda is a very educated and real writer, author. Talented in many ways. I do hope to indulge in a sequel.
