Every February 14th, Arthur Penhaligon puts on his best tweed coat and walks to the Central Post Office in Oakhaven. He mails a letter in a distinct blue envelope to 42 Hawthorne Lane-a house that officially doesn't exist on the modern grid, inhabited by a woman who has walled herself in with silence. The letter is for his wife, Clara.
