I love vampire books. I've read all varieties-scary, funny, silly, sick, YA, boink like rabbits ones- I've read them all. The ones where they catch fire in sunlight,  slap on SPF 100 and walk in the sun, turn to ash with a pointy stick,  fly like a bird, turn to mist, travel through time, have babies, don't have babies, are 30 and gorgeous, are 1000 and gorgeous, so needless to say I was tickled to be treated to this awesome new vampire world. It blows my mind that as many incredible vampire worlds as there are out in the literary world, McMichael has concocted yet another. Bravo! I sat down at about 9 one evening to take a peek at this book and did not look up till nearly 3 AM when I finished it. While I'm not a fan of the love triangle (and I suspect it will be a quadrangle before it's over) it wasn't intrusive on the overall story. I'll definitely be back for the rest of the trilogy.

What a unique creative take on vampires, werewolves and night creatures in general.  I really enjoyed the storyline and the fact that it wasn't anything like the other young adult vampire books that I have read.  I couldn't wait to see where the author was going with the story.  To say I devoured this book is an understatement and now I am eager to begin book 2 in the series. Arianna Grace finds out on her sixteenth birthday that she is a vampire, but not just any vampire.  She has the blood of two warring clans, Baku and Dearg-dul.  Each clan has their own unique abilities except for Arianna, she has the power of both.  Caught in the middle and finding out she may be the key to peace is a lot to swallow, but Arianna handles it with grace and dignity.  Of course it helps if you have a couple handsome young men willing to put their lives on the line to protect you.  I also loved this about the story,  There is no love triangle where you feel like you want to scream, but a special bond that allows for Arianna to have more than one keeper.  I have to say she is a very lucky girl because I loved Devin and Turner equally.   There is so much more to the story but I do not want to give anything away and spoil it.  The Legend of Blue Eyes is a great start to the series.  I am anxious to find out how Arianna handles her new found position and if she can bring peace to the clans.  I highly recommend this book to anyone looking for a unique YA paranormal story.

My Thoughts - 4 out of 5 unicorns - I really liked it!! First OMG, the cover is absolutely beautiful and very intriguing.  I really liked this story with all the twists and turns and mysterious back story that you only learn bits and pieces as you go keep you intrigued.  It did have some boring parts here and there, but this is the first book so it is needed to make sure we understand what’s going on.  I absolutely love Arianna though at the beginning she is a bit of a cliché blonde where everything goes over her head, but it is because she’s very naïve and been kept in the dark.  It is amazing to watch her learn about night humans and grow as a character.  I was laughing with her, irritated, worried, and cried with her.  I know I’m sucked into a story when it makes me cry.  I also want to mention that I love her name because if I ever had a daughter her name would have been Arianna because I always thought it was beautiful (oddly enough I found the name in a romance book which is amusing to me).  I think anyone who enjoys paranormal fantasy would fall in love with Arianna and this world that Kristin created.   I absolutely can’t wait to read book 2 because I think it is only going to get better as a series. ****This book was gifted to me by the author for an honest review

Omg!!! This book was sooo amazing that I could NOT put it down! The reading was easy and fluid, I didn't have to stop and re-read. I love the neat new touches the author used in lieu of the same old boring terms for werewolf, vampire, etc. This started out having even me wonder what the heck was going on just as the main character was. I love the explanation of the family and how everything happened. I have been trying to win this book forever and when this opportunity came up I was EXHILARATED! I love the characters relations with each other and just loved the whole feeling of the book. One part that I did become confused on was this character named Thomas at the end. Where did he come from and who is he?? Anyway, lovely writing, great introduction to these new terms. I can NOT WAIT for the next book to come out!!!! [author:B. I received this book for an honest review. I loved all the characters especially Devin, Turner and Gabriel. It was sad when Arianna's grandfather died.  I found that the book really speeds through at the beginning as the main character was instantly thrown into the world of vampires, lycan and all the other night humans.  I also thought it was cute how Arianna needed someone to help her sleep, and also about the part where she is watching the tape of her and grandfather dancing and then she says she will marry Devin and she then chases him and he runs off, very cute and the message from her grandfather very sad! :) I did enjoy this book and i recommend it to everyone who enjoys a light-read story.
