The Outlaws for Justice and Mercy

"Strange to say, but after a lifetime of unwavering obedience to the law, I became an outlaw. Not, mind you, a mere criminal motivated by personal gain. No. Something else altogether. An outlaw, unconcerned with the law, acting on principle alone. That was me. And if my choice of medium-red paint-resembled blood, there was truth enough in it."

So says our narrator, a well-to-do older man, until then living a quiet life of non-involvement. A man who, together with his wife-and to their everlasting surprise and satisfaction-became The Outlaws for Justice and Mercy, widely feared, equally admired. By their actions, under cover of night and cunning disguise, they protest humanity's inhumanity, asking, Why can't we be kind to all living creatures? Why can't we be good to one another and to this world we inhabit?

This is a story of self-discovery, newfound compassion, and love-and of a pair of elderly outlaws thoroughly outwitting the police.
