The Previous by Gibran Khalil Gibran is a literary and philosophical work that takes the reader on a deep journey of contemplation and thinking. The book consists of twenty-four prose texts, combining prose stories and poems in a distinctive poetic language. Gibran presents existential reflections on man and his relationship with the universe and the sacred, and addresses topics such as reincarnation, turning to God, and the philosophy of eternal time. As Gibran usually does, the text leaves a deep impact on the soul, and ignites the desire to return to it again as if it were a sacred text carrying spiritual rituals that were practiced regularly. This book is an invitation to search for oneself, to understand human pain, and to deeply explore the human relationships that link individuals and the universe.

About the Author
