A fractured retelling of the classic fairy tale about a wolf’s hunger and the temptation of seven little kid goats – or in this case ‘goatlings,’ left at home all alone. Mama Goat has to work to fend for herself and her goatlings. Mr. Wolf, a quick learner, turns to the local community to find assistance in tricking the goatlings so they will open the door. The question is, will he succeed? And if he does, what are there consequences?

Told by seven authors, this story is, nonetheless, a whole. Bound into one with laughter and tears. It is a cautionary tale of the tension between survival and the manipulation of a determined predator.

Contributing Authors: Suzanne Newnham, Arlene Liang, Louise Falcioni, Stafford Ray, Anke Ziergiebel and Cat Sheely.

About the Author

I am a writer, editor and publisher for the Secret Society of Words. My interests include reading, writing and discussing speculative fiction and I have a keen interest in new scientific discoveries (astrology, space exploration, cosmology, physics, psychology etc). I like to read about Australia, the political arena and environmental issues. I also love to knit and cross-stitch when I'm not into books, on the computer writing or out kayaking, I'm swimming and golfing.

I'm a member of the Eurobodalla Fellowship of Australian Writers (EFAW) evening group and the Canberra Speculative Fiction Guild.

Our evening group has set up its own publishing enterprise: The Secret Society of Words under which all our novella's are published. They are as follows:

Anke loves creativity of any kind (*Creativity is a drug I cannot live without- Cecil DeMille) and has been part in many projects initiated by her writer’s group: the SSOW (Secret Society of Words).
Known to surprise friends with rhymes for any occasion she’s now considered venturing into the world of publishing; encouraged, after finishing the first book ‘Deception’ of her sci-fi romance trilogy ‘Unearthly talents’.

A graduate with a Doctor of Medicine, she moved from the UK to Australia in 2003 with her husband and two children. She currently works as a part-time GP on the beautiful south coast, when she’s not succumbing to her drug of choice*: writing anything that pops into her head without rhyme or reason.
Although sometimes it rhymes; and mostly it has reason.
