About the Author

From a young age, Laura knew something was missing from the books she read. Even today, so many of the books that reach readers lack strong women and femme-presenting characters, or positive representation for the queer and disabled communities. Laura's writing emphasizes characters, identities, and experiences she missed out on in her youth.

Laura is also the creator of the Underground Bookshelf. This project provides free short stories and literary resources every week with the intention of making diverse stories more accessible to everyone.

Laura is queer and neurodivergent, and has a chronic illness caused by long-COVID. She lives in Boston, MA with her wife, Jasmine. She enjoys gardening, painting, and finding new science fiction or fantasy books to enjoy.
