I was disappointed in this book mostly because I was expecting a cookbook with some historical background. What I found was a history book with some recipes. Should have read a sample before buying. If you are interested in learning more about the native Mexicans in Texas this is a good resource.

This is the best cookbook for TRUE MEXICAN FOOD. I have had the pleasure of eating many dishes from it that have been prepared by this family!!! Do yourself a favor and experience what MEXICAN food is and not texmex. Trust me there is a HUGE difference. Thank you, Adan Medrano, for sharing your family's recipes with us!!!
