This is without a doubt THE best urban fantasy series I have ever read! Ok, ok wait... it actually shares that #1 spot with Ilona Andrews 2 current series. Because Barant's series also has plenty of everything I want in an amazing urban fantasy series; action, mystery, suspense, & even that extra something you don't expect, well placed humor that ties it all together. And did I mention the awesome kick butt, yet still very human, heroine Jack who you can't help but root for? Oh yeah, I definitely recommend reading this whole series from the beginning, you won't regret it!

Undead to the World is the worse book yet in the series. I say this with the thought that I must be a masochist to continue have read this after Back from the Undead when I proclaimed “I am done with the series.” From the first sentence I was in the parallel paralleled universe and trudged through this book to finally come to end and have to ask myself” is it the end?” My consternation with the last book (Back from the Undead) was the lack of relationship building between Jace and Cassius when a relationship was finally found in the last 3-pages of the previous book (Better off Undead). I so wanted to see the relationship explored when one kiss into, Better off Undead, Cassius is lost to an alternate universe; this book… Despite the obvious with the current storyline, who’s who, where are we and a general “huh” there is still no Jace-Cassius relationship. Will there ever be a Jace-Cassius relationship and will the mind confusing plot be the norm; what reality am I writing this review anyway?

I love this series! As usual you have Jace put in a situation there is no way to prepare for. As she uses her skills and training to figure out what is going on, she takes you with her all the way. Old friends and allies collide with old enemies in new ways. A decent addition to the series.
