Warrior Soul: The Memoir of a Navy Seal by Chuck Pfarrer

“Since the first navy frogmen crawled onto the beaches of Normandy, no SEAL has ever surrendered,” writes Chuck Pfarrer. “No SEAL has ever been captured, and not one teammate or body has ever been left in the field. This legacy of valor is unmatched in modern warfare.”

Warrior Soul
is a book about the warrior spirit, and it takes the reader all over the world. Former Navy SEAL Chuck Pfarrer recounts some of his most dangerous assignments: On a clandestine reconnaissance mission on the Mosquito Coast, his recon team plays a deadly game of cat and mouse with a Nicaraguan patrol boat. Cut off on the streets of Beirut, the author’s SEAL detachment must battle snipers on the Green Line. In the mid-Atlantic, Pfarrer’s unit attempts to retrieve—or destroy—the booster section of a Trident ballistic missile before it can be recovered by a Russian spy trawler. On a runway in Sicily, his assault element surrounds an Egyptian airliner carrying the Achille Lauro hijackers.

These are only a few of the riveting stories of combat patrol, reconnaissance missions, counter-terrorist operations, tragedies, and victories in Warrior Soul that illustrate the SEAL maxim “The person who will not be defeated cannot be defeated.”

Plain and simple...Mr. Pfarrer makes you feel like you have been his best friend for years. He is not afraid to relate his faults, or fears, and tells the whole truth from beginning to end.

This is one of my favorite, if not THE best book on the Navy Seals that I have read, and I have read quite a few. A must read for anyone who is into the program, and who wants to feel what it is like to be one of the best.

Written before the surge in interest in SEALs, Pfarrer's book paints an excellent picture not just of the rigors of training but of the mindset it takes to be a true warrior. This is an important book for anyone wishing to be a war-fighter, or who wants to understand one.

Very rarely does a non combatant civilian get an opportunity to truly understand what the front line of defense see, feel and do.

Chuck Pfarrer gives an incredible look inside a very secretive world. His memoir goes past the courageous bravado of a man at war to the personal and human battle inside.

After purchasing Warrior Soul I sat down and read it cover to cover, to date, I've read Warrior Soul too many times to count. Scroll through any page and you'll read about an exciting life of emotional ups and downs. If you don't find this book truly an adventure, you don't have a pulse.

Amazing narrative of the inside life of that branch of the Navy and of the amazing  honest share of his adventuresome life. The missing star goes for the editor for two things: would had been great to  discuss with the author a review of female characters, pale and irrelevant, compared with the robust rendering of male characters. If it gets too personal,  for the book is autobiographical, there are many ways to blur them so they blend without appearing bland, when the story shows they were not.  Second: the quality of this book demands a good spellchecker on anything in  Spanish. If he is going to share with the reader a good Spanish curse, please  do it properly.  Is still a great read. I have read the paperback 4 good times and now I´m to buy  it for the Nook so I can have it as reference.

In Warrior Soul by Chuck Pfarrer, we see what it is like to become a navy seal. Chuck tells us about his life before, during, and after he entered the seal teams. Chuck starts as a young man who is going down a bad road, his father sends him to military school and Chuck becomes interested in the navy. We then go on to read about life in seal training and the challenges faced by Chuck and his friends. The reader is thrown into life as a seal, and reads about some of the seemingly impossible missions that Chuck and his companions carry out. Throughout the book the main underlying message is to love your family as much as possible and treat them well. Chuck writes about how he wishes he were a better boyfriend and husband, and regrets many things that he said or did. This book was very interesting and it kept my attention until the end. I recommend this book to anyone interested in the military, and anyone who is interested in the training, fighting, and mental stresses that these incredible men go though each day.
