THE HOTLY ANTICIPATED SEQUEL
TO THE NO. 1 BESTSELLER CARRY ON
Simon Snow is back and he's coming to America!
The story is supposed to be over.
Simon Snow did everything he was supposed to do. He beat the villain. He won the war. He even fell in love. Now comes the good part, right? Now comes the happily ever after…
So why can’t Simon Snow get off the couch?
What he needs, according to his best friend, is a change of scenery. He just needs to see himself in a new light.
That’s how Simon and Penny and Baz end up in a vintage convertible, tearing across the American West. They find trouble, of course. (Dragons, vampires, skunk-headed things with shotguns.) And they get lost. They get so lost, they start to wonder whether they ever knew where they were headed in the first place.
With Wayward Son, Rainbow Rowell has written a book for everyone who ever wondered what happened to the Chosen One after he saved the day. And a book for everyone who was ever more curious about the second kiss than the first. It’s another helping of sour cherry scones with an absolutely decadent amount of butter.
Come on, Simon Snow. Your hero’s journey might be over – but your life has just begun.

About the Author
RAINBOW ROWELL writes books. Sometimes she writes about adults (Attachments and Landline). Sometimes she writes about teenagers (Eleanor&Park, Fangirl and Carry On). But she always writes about people who talk a lot. And people who feel like they're screwing up. And people who fall in love.
When she's not writing, Rainbow is reading comic books, planning Disney World trips and arguing about things that don't really matter in the big scheme of things.
She lives in Nebraska with her husband and two sons.

My only complaint is that the book was too short! I could read a million pages of these characters and it wouldn't be enough!
say this as a fan of Season 6, as not everyone is, this book was extremely Buffy Season 6 energy. What happens after you've saved the world? After you reached the conclusion to your journey? And ended on such a high note? Life continues and it is hard. This book was thrilling and fun and sad and heartbreaking. It asks a lot of tough and interesting questions. I honestly don't know what else to say without spoiling the book but if you read Carry On, this is a must read. And if you haven't, you absolutely should.
I loved revisiting with the characters that I'd come to enjoy from Carry On. This story picks up almost right where the first left off. They visit America in search of a friend who they haven't heard back from and are afraid she might be in trouble. Being American it was funny to see how they saw foreign soil, also this is a time of vampires etc. which makes things different than how they are now. I liked the addition of Sheppard and enjoyed their usual banter with one another. Simon still feels like such a lost soul and I hope that he will somehow regain his powers to some extent at some point. Looking forward to the next installment in this series!
A realistic and entertaining addition to the simon snow series imo (:
loved every minute of it even the ending
