This book is the perfect companion to Wheat Belly and is the logical next step for anyone choosing to take charge of their health through nutrition. If you have an autoimmune disease, diabetes, chronic headaches, inflammation, thyroid disorder, mood swings, low energy, low libido or a shocking array of other health disruptions, you must read this book. Three years ago, Dr. Davis put forward the bold idea that wheat (and all seeds of grasses) was the root of our health troubles and with Wheat Belly Total Health, he explains the steps needed to heal ourselves of the disease we've developed through decades of misguided health advice including the dangerous low-fat and healthy whole grain food pyramid. Highly recommended! I'd also recommend The Hungry Chick Dieting Solution. It is another weapon in your ongoing battle against your unnecessary, unwanted and stubborn pounds!

This book is a follow up to Dr. Davis' 2011 best seller, Wheat Belly, and I'm glad I have both books! In this book, Dr. Davis expands on the nature of most grains, not just wheat, so the reader can come to a better personal understanding of which grains to consume in strict moderation, and which grains, along with modern wheat, should be entirely avoided. My husband and I learned from his advice on probiotics and prebiotics in the book, and his discussion on the importance of proper gut health, and we use his section at the end to make magnesium water and an electrolyte drink, minus all the junk. Thank you, Dr. Davis, also for your witty writing style, which makes reading this book fun, as well as informative and full of practical advice!

Amazing. Scientific evidence laid out in a user-friendly, entertaining format makes a case against humans consuming all grains. I have been following the paleo diet (minus eggs, as I am allergic) for the past couple of months after following a vegan diet for 5 years. I do feel that the years of grain and processed sugar consumption have negatively affected my health. Upon quitting wheat, gluten, corn, rice and potatoes, my brain fog vanished, I stopped NEEDING long naps every weekend (sometimes more than one in a day!), my bowel habits improved, the constant BLOATING is gone (!!) and my mood has noticeably brightened. A lot of people don't realize how wheat is hurting them and how much better they can feel without it in their lives. Upon reading the author's info on being glutened after quitting wheat products, I started crying. The stomach pains, inflammation, brain fog, crabbiness, lethargy, and depression that descend when I mistakenly consume grains since quitting were scary symptoms that I thought I alone was experiencing! Not so. This author has changed my life with his books and cook books; I would recommend that EVERYONE read this book. The author also clearly lays out supplement, probiotic and prebiotic advice for repairing the gut after years/decades of consuming toxic grains. I commend this doctor/author for going against the grain (haha) as this is clearly NOT a popular theory at this point in time/history. However, my experience PROVES that this science is correct. I would also recommend the first Wheat Belly book, as well as Grain Brain by Dr Perlmutter and Fiber Menace by Konstantin Monastarsky.

This book was highly recommended to me when my son was diagnosed as extremely wheat sensitive, so I had high expectations of this book to begin with. My expectations were surpassed!! I can see why it is so important to take this seriously. Our whole family is now wheat free and have seriously limited other grains, and all of us are feeling much better in only 3 weeks. I am excited to see how this plays out. The big take away is that all grains have gluten, and all grains will cause health problems, most of which will not be immediately apparent until years later. The book is written in an informative and highly readable style.

...however, I think we will be seeing more and more of this type of information. It makes perfect sense that shooting up our blood sugar levels with *any* type of grain isn't a good idea!
