Fergus Collins is former military. He decides to start a security business with his cousin Finn after he gets out. His first case, protect Aubrey Summers a former TV teen show personality and now music star from a stalker. He is hesitant at first because he heard about her reputation and the fact that she constantly fires her bodyguards. He takes the case because the record company hired him and Aubrey can’t fire him. He is not impressed when he first meets her and soon realizes that he has his job cut out for him. He can make it, he only has to stay until the tour is over. Aubrey Summers is strong willed, stubborn and has major trust issues due to being used by the people around her, especially her mother, her former manager. When she meets no nonsense Fergus, she does everything she can do to get rid of him, but he won’t be deterred. Fergus is determined to find out who the stalker is. Accidents happen to anyone upsetting Aubrey. As the tour continues, these two strong willed people bang heads quite a few times. Things begin to change as they both get to know one another. Soon a romance develops. This also causes the stalker to up his game. Can Fergus keep Aubrey safe and find out who is stalking her before the tour is over? What will happen to their relationship too? I really enjoyed this book. I love this family. The chemistry is great between these two characters as they develop and grow throughout this story. I especially liked how Fergus finally realizes that he can’t do this job on his own and enlists the help of the rest of the family to help him find the stalker and protect Aubrey. In typical Collins fashion, Aubrey is accepted as a member of the family, something she has longed for. I laughed at the antics of some of the Collins men as they fan girled over Aubrey because they used to watch her show. There are a few twists and turns as Fergus tries to find the stalker and the suspense builds up on the last night of the tour as we find out who the stalker really is. I really enjoyed this book and look forward to more of the Collins family, especially Pop.

Whoa. Talk about flames! July Flames by Mari Carr is the seventh in the Wilder Irish series, the next generation of Collinses (the original family's stories are told in the Wild Irish series) to flourish under the loving attention of Pop Pop aka Pat Collins, owner of Pat's Pub in Baltimore. July Flames is about Fergus Collins, son of Lily, Killian, and Justin. He's an ex-military man who's started his own security company when his cousin asks a favor. Act as bodyguard to Aubrey Summers, former child TV star who's having a breakout season as a pop singer. Fergus reluctantly agrees, and as he gets to know the prickly Aubrey, realizes she's at all the diva she pretends to be. Aubrey's had too many losses and betrayals in her life to be open to making herself vulnerable to anyone again, much less this irritating, overbearing man who insists on protecting her, even when she's not sure there's much to worry over. Mari Carr writes an emotionally charged, deliciously satisfying story of these two strong people coming to realize the value of letting someone else in. Because when someone else truly has your back, you can actually feel safe. Ms Carr's tale reinforces the strength in love and family, and July Flames is a beautiful read for the keeper shelf.

Fergus is not worried in any shape or format about the Collins curse. He isn’t anticipating it, he isn’t running from it, he just doesn’t give it any thought. Maybe it is because he was away so long? Maybe it was because he missed his family so much? Maybe because as the only child with three loving parents, he knew love was not to be feared? Who knows, but when it struck him, he didn’t even think about it, he knew Aubrey was his, and that was that! Now Aubrey, she needed love, she needed trust, and she absolutely need the Collins clan to make her part of their family. But with a target on her, from everyone it seems, and a stalker hurting everyone who even is a little nice to her, she has a bit to go to get her happiness An excellent romantic suspense, with some sweet Collins shenanigans, and a dominant bodyguard falling for his charge, a former child star turned grown up star, this book had me engrossed in it from the first page!

July Flames is the next book in a series by Mari Carr. Fergus has returned from war and ended his military service. He has started a private security firm with a few of his cousins. Their first case comes quickly and it is providing protection to a pop-star. Aubrey is closed up and doesn't let anyone get close. She trusts no one after her momager betrayed her. Now she is getting flowers with threatening notes attached and people around her are getting hurt. When Fergus comes along, she can't get rid of him, like she has with everyone else but she isn't going to make it easy for him. Fergus had no clue who Aubrey was before he met her. She doesn't make protecting her easy but he knows that she had been hurt before. What will happen when the two of them are forced together by circumstances? Mari Carr is a great writer. Her books mix the love of a close Irish family with a side of steamy. She's an automatic buy for me.

This book was absolutely phenomenal! Mystery and intrigue, love and family lead to a book that had me on the edge of my seat from beginning to end! I can't get enough of the Collins clan, and this book just proves why! Fergus is home from the military, beginning a new life (and business) with his cousin. His first assignment as a bodyguard leads to him going on the road with a pop princess! Cold, rude, and unapproachable, she does her best to run him off. But Fergus is determined enough to stick it out, keeping her safe from a crazy stalker! Aubrey has had an amazing career, but a less than stellar home life. Despite her advantageous upbringing as a TV star, she has no trust in anyone, after being let down, again and again, by those that she should have been able to trust. I wasn't sure that Aubrey was going to be able to set aside her mistrust long enough to be able to open up to Fergus. I wasn't sure Fergus was going to be able to look past the spoiled pop princess persona that Aubrey was using to protect herself. But this is a book about the Collins family. Of course there has to be a HEA! This book was everything that I love about this author, and so much more. And the ending! Well, you will just have to read the book, but I will say I had a happy tear in my eye!
