Chicago: the Windy City, where something dark lurks just below the surface.

For decades he’s posed as a human…

It’s been a long time since Tobias spread his wings. The exiled dragon prince has worked hard to blend into the human world and practice his love for healing as a pediatric cardiologist.

She awakens the dragon within…

As a vampire-human hybrid, Sabrina is used to being different from the rest of her community. But all vampires need to feed. The night she chooses Tobias as her next meal, everything changes. He’s far more than he seems, and if she doesn’t protect his secret, it could cost him his life.

Can love remind him of who he truly is?

One kiss thrusts Tobias into the dark underground world of Chicago’s vampires where his dragon nature is his only hope of protecting Sabrina. But Sabrina knows the only way to keep him safe is to push him away.

I couldn't put it down. I read this book in one day. And the New Orleans dragon the day before. I loved following the story of Sabrina and Tobias while they try to deny their connection. Then you also see how Tobias' s attitude and feelings toward his brother Gabriel and his mate Raven change? You just have to read these two books and I cannot wait for the next book.

This was a really good read, I didn't enjoy this quite as much as its predecessor but that was mainly to do with the central characters who I didn't take to quite as much as Raven and Gabriel, but more of that later. This was great it followed on nicely from "The Dragon of New Orleans" this also seemed to have more of an urban fantasy than a paranormal feel to it which was slightly different from book one. This was told from multiple viewpoints and it was great to catch up with past characters. This is a series that does need to be read in order as there is an ongoing story arc flowing throughout. So this one centres on the brother Tobias who we were introduced to previously and Sabrina a human/vampire hybrid who is the sole heir to her vampire coven in Chicago. Both these two are human carers Tobias a doctor and Sabrina a nurse but as individual personalities, I really wasn't much of a fan. Tobias did eventually grow on me but I did find Sabrina much more of a hard sell. Tobias is meticulous, extremely black and white and very single-minded, I also didn't like the way he seemed to be pining after Sabrina and felt she held all the cards (and used them) in this partnership. sabrina at times for me came across as quite self-serving and selfish and I didn't really take to her at all. So thank god for the inclusion of Gabriel and Raven they saved the day here for me love these two so much. I also really liked where this eventually went in terms of story progression and the next instalment here looks super interesting as well. This has lots to recommend it and though it didn't quite have the same impact on me as book one did I still very much enjoyed myself and am onboard and looking forward to the next thrilling instalment in this imaginative series. I voluntary reviewed a copy of Windy City Dragon (The Treasure of Paragon, #2).

I really enjoyed the first book- Dragon of New Orleans - and I grew to care about the characters in that book, so I was nervous about switching to a different focus of main characters. BUT, Genevieve is amazing. She built up Tobias quickly so I was invested, and also wove enough of the New Orleans characters in the book to help bridge the gap for me. Sabrina was was another character that grew on me - I was ambivalent at the beginning; I was more invested in Tobias.. but holy smokes, Chapter 30 made me freaking LOVE her. She's so badass and really comes into her own, and I 100% was cheering for her and loved seeing her emerge. I don't want to say too much more, because, spoilers... BUT. Yes. Love Sabrina. Love Tobias. Love Genevieve. Really looking forward to meeting Rowan in Manhattan Dragon!
