Wrong Turn by Taylor Law

After a long, hard year filled with stress and heartache, Jessie Rohen decides to take a vacation to visit his friend and get away from real life for a little while, hoping it will help him heal. On the way, he has an accident and is injured. He wakes up with no memories of his past, not even of his name.

Xander Dane is a wolf shifter and Second of his pack. He saves Jessie's life, only to realize Jess is his mate. Xander has been in the closet his whole life. Coming out may be harder than ever because not only does he have to tell everyone he's gay and risk exile, but he has to tell his mate he's part wolf. Since Jessie can't remember who he is, Xander has to take a chance on a man who may have a life waiting for him somewhere else - a life that doesn't include Xander.

About the Author

Taylor Law is a northern born, southern girl, with a free spirit. Taylor has lived in the southern United States most of her life, along with her huge family. She started writing at a very young age; her first poem at six, her first song at seven, and stories followed directly after. She hasn’t stopped since.

She started with Barbie worlds that took over her room for days on end, standing on the kitchen table and singing randomness that eventually turned into songs, and making up endings to her favorite stories. It was no surprise to anyone when she started writing them all down. It was a surprise, however, when she turned to writing LGBTQ romance and fiction. Now, some of her family regularly read her books and ask for more.

Taylor has a Paralegal degree, but she also went to college for Music, Theatrical Arts, and Criminal Justice. She loves to learn new things. She also enjoys history, an eclectic array of music, puzzles, her friends and family, and laughing. Taylor would much rather read than watch television any day.

A romantic clear to her soul, Taylor continues to believe the elusive ‘Happily Ever After.’ She lives in Florida where it rains regularly — yes, the Sunshine State is a myth. On any given day, you can usually catch her with a book in her hand, or creating something.

Taylor loves hearing from her readers. You can find her just about anywhere under taylorlawbooks.

I got to about the third chapter before mercilessly deleting this. I don't even feel bad, considering "Wrong Turn" is pretty well literally one big conglomeration of clich¿s. Lost in the woods in the rain, no phone reception, almost hit an ethereal person/animal, amnesia, instant bond, referring to one another as Greek gods or dark angels, sexual identity crisis sex and the resulting avoidence issues... Sigh. Sorry, but I only read fiction this trite when I use it to accompany a drinking game.

I enjoyed reading this book the whole way through. I cannot wait for more from this author. Thank you Taylor Law for this... and hopefully many more.

Too many cliches. We have instant mates so we just drag them off without explanation unless the alpha makes you give one. Ridiculous.

It was the kind of book one reads between the dregs of semesters. Personally, I was just fine with it on the beach with a beer. To the other folks that made any comment about how horrible it was because it was M/M, did a one of you even read the description? And wait for cliche, doth does protest too much. Next time, read the description.

What a wonderful novella, stage is nicely in the beginning as Jessie drives towards his one true friend and gets stuck in a horrible storm. Xan is out.in wolf form making sure his pack is safe and discovers the trouble Jessie is about to be in and runs to the rescue. This story is so well written, even from the beginning, you can feel Xan first confusion on why he’s being that protective over this man, than fear on what his pack will think and do. You can also tell Jessie is wondering what he did so wrong to make this man, who clearly likes him treat him this way. Why again, someone just wants to use him but can’t seem to love him like he wants and does. But the end OMG, so incredible sweet, sappy, I cried happy tears. I was given a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review by Crystals Many Reviews

This was a freebie and thats the only reason I picked it up. It started off well with some interesting turn of events and I think, overall, had some potential as far as becoming something more, but this felt more like the first draft of a larger book. The two main characters are cute enough, but there wasn't enough character development and not much of a story arc. Still, for a free read, it was entertaining enough.
