Brutal Zombies. Nasty Villains. Interesting Plot. This book has it all. Z-Day by Scott Free is the best apocalypse book I've read this year. It is a slightly new take on the zombie genre, which introduces some very interesting ideas about what a zombie is and can be. I am eagerly awaiting the next installment of the Z-Day series.

Very Realistic Zombie Story. This book is the most realistic zombie book I have ever read. The people act like real people and the bad guys are believable. Tim Valentine is awesome, Emily is even better, Tom-Tom is better than that, and Sheriff Goden is the best character I've seen in a long time.

Z-Day is my fourth favorite zombie book. Right behind World War Z, Zombie Fallout, and The Remaining. The characters are fantastic, and I felt really sad when one of them died a horrible death. Definitely read this book. You won't be sorry.

Unique and interesting apocalypse story. Character development is a definite strong point for Scott Free. The characters were believable and fleshed-out people that the reader could connect with and be horrified when they suffered. Z-Day had a fast-paced plot that involves several characters experiences as they maneuver during the collapse of society. The idea of the zombie fungus was well thought out and was a unique part of the story that made my reading experience very enjoyable. Mr. Free's writing style flows well and makes for a fast and easy read.  The editing of this novel was top notch. I am looking forward to the next installment by this author.

An enjoyable novel by Scott Free, involving many characters, good and evil. These novels are about the zombie outbreak as well as the fight between the good and the evil, and Free gives the reader a very interesting cast to root for and against. The antagonists are bad people, but never do they cross over the line into cartoonish figures in their badness. Anyone who enjoyed World War Z should enjoy this excellent novel.

I just started reading zombie books last year. I read World War Z and loved it. I read many more since then, but I haven't been able to find that book that really makes me feel the excitement and dread of a zombie attack--until now, that is. Z-Day is quite a fine read. After I finished it, I felt wrung out from all the tension and fear for the characters.

A Zombie Apocalypse story that is a fresh take. I recommend this book for all ZA fans. I've read literally over a hundred zombie books, and I felt they were getting a little stale, but then I read Z-Day: First Blood and I realized there are still some entertaining stories out there to be told. This story doesn't involve someone that needs to take a road trip for some reason, and it doesn't have Peter Gunn (or some other ridiculous name), ex Delta Force operator. I could relate to the characters and I cared when they ran afoul of the zombies and other bad guys. Again, I recommend this book for all ZA fans.

Z-Day is much more interesting than many of the ZA books I've read lately. It follows several people who are trying to survive a zombie outbreak, but there is also other things going on, too. The sheriff has a grudge against Tim Valentine, and he does some bad stuff. Some of the nice people turn bad because the fungus that turns you into a zombie first makes people get violent and vicious. I am glad that I read Free's book and I am going to read more when they come out. Hurry up, Mr. Free!

Very exciting book with lots of zombie action. I hate zombie books that don't have zombies, but this one is fantastic. Creepy, vicious zombies that leave a trail of blood and gore wherever they go. I love it!

This book has a new twist on the zombie theme. I read zombie books all the time and this one stands out. I enjoy books where the good guys don't always come out without a scratch. I like stories where they suffer setbacks and have problems, just like most of us. The zombies, which come in two 'stages' of infection are ruthless and brutal.

Most realistic characters I've ever seen in a zombie book. A little confusing at the beginning due to so many characters, but after the first couple chapters things really get good.

The characters and the plot in this zompoc novel are outstanding. The zombies are varied, and all of them give me the shivers when I think about them.

Great zombie tale that lets us see things through the zombie's eyes.
