8 TOM SWIFT and the Galaxy Ghosts

This is NOT a retelling of the horrible final book in the Tom Swift Jr. series. It borrows the name but is a ALL NEW story.

Okay. Tom Swift is determined to find a way to locate and study a wormhole. But, there is no actual evidence they even exist. But, when a very old piece of film taken during a nuclear bomb test shows him something utterly shocking, he knows this is a real clue.

He is faced with the two-pronged problem of locating one and then how to open it. A nuclear explosion is NOT the answer, so what is?

He finally succeeds but when he and Bud Barclay pop out at the other end it is be faced with an impossible phenomena. So impossible that they spend far too much time trying to study it and a pair of ghostly hands hanging in space that appear to beckon them to come even closer--dangerously close!

Why is the black hole they find doing what it seems to be doing, and what is the cause of the hands? They appear visually but not on any instrument.

Did the trip through the wormhole damage their brains? Are they seeing some sort of galactic mirage? And, when time really does run out for them, how can our heroes survive and get home?

About the Author

The pseudonym of Victor Appleton (and his "son," Victor II) has been used for five series spanning almost 100 years. He is actually they, and they number nearly two dozen authors who were willing to take a single lump payment for a finished manuscript and then claim nothing else.

In 2009, author Thomas Hudson picked up reigns that had been dropped and were lying in a tangle when the publisher just gave up on the character. By the end of 2015 he had published 15 brand new novels with an equal number of collections of novellas in the Tom universe plus a three-part mini-saga involving Tom and several other books.

In his own mind, Mr. Hudson holds a PhD given him in honor of his dedication to the School of Life® located on the campus of the T..E. Fox College of Knowledge in Keokuck, Iowa. In fact, his own imaginary child was Student Of The Month in that same school.

He takes everything seriously and can be seen in the disguise as an ancient Chinese man in Balboa Park in San Diego practicing Tai Chi every day except those in months ending in "uary." He moves ever so slowly, but he is like the wind.

In reality, the author is a past middle age man of unknown heritage who once lost his appendix after a three-week writing spree. Because the useless organ exploded in the faces of the surgical team he underwent questioning about his sexual practices, whether he was a Haitian mailman, and other personal things. He is none of them.

He makes his home somewhere in the Pacific Northwest along with his wife of more than three decades and a dog who has recently gone deaf.
