In A SEA OF SHIELDS, Gwendolyn gives birth to her and Thorgrin's child, amidst powerful omens. With a son born to them, Gwendolyn and Thorgrin's lives are changed forever, as is the destiny of the Ring.

Thor has no choice to but to embark to find his mother, to leave his wife and child and venture away from his homeland on a perilous quest that will have the very future of the Ring at stake. Before Thor embarks, he unites with Gwendolyn in the greatest wedding in the history of the MacGils, and he is given the honor he has always dreamed of when he is inducted into the Silver and becomes a Knight.

Gwendolyn feels a looming danger to the Ring, and furthers her plans to rescue all of her people in the case of a catastrophe. Erec receives news of his father's illness, and is summoned back home, to the Southern Isles; Alistair joins him on the journey, as their wedding plans are put in motion. Reece, despite himself, falls in love with his cousin, and when Tirus' sons find out, they set in motion a great treachery. And Romulus, in the Empire, discovers a new form of magic which may just destroy the Shield for good.

With its sophisticated world-building and characterization, A SEA OF SHIELDS is an epic tale of friends and lovers, of rivals and suitors, of knights and dragons, of intrigues and political machinations, of coming of age, of broken hearts, of deception, ambition and betrayal. Just when I thought the story may be over and the end near, I was happy to see new stories begin. Twists and turns, wars and betrayal are everywhere. It is very hard to believe that I have been captivated by these books for the tenth time. I couldn’t put the book down. There is so much going on that it held my attention from beginning to end. The last two chapters left me saying to myself, “no way” and I wanted to keep reading but it ended! I cannot wait for the next installment.

This is the 10th book I have read in this series and there never seems to be a conclusion to this story. If I wanted to read a book that leads into a lifelong series that required payment for every new book I would never have started this series.

I suspect they are rushing to print. Books not proofed, errors, light on detail and quantity. Disappointed.

I really hate having to trash a book or series. I have read all 17 books in this series. I only finished because I don’t start a book or series without finishing. I have never read a book with so many story holes in it, conflicting information, good/evil turnarounds, and the incredible amount of “plagiarized” themes. Every science fiction, drama, mystery, fantasy theme from the myriad of books I have previously read were thinly veiled in this series. I literally got sick of reading it and could not wait to finish so I could PERMANENTLY delete it from my Nook. I would NEVER consider re-reading this trash. Lastly, there are hundreds of misspelled and misused words throughout the series, terrible.

Wow! This series is great! I don't think it is for pre-teens because a character kills herself because she felt he didn't love her. Another one thinks about suicide also. This is a good series is for adults who like fantasy stories.

It was really nice! I feel there could be more details, surrounding the setting mostly and your characters. And better grammar. Have your sister check it over if needed :)

Wow! Eight reviews! Thank you all so much! I will take all your comments under advisement. And yes, I bumped and extra 'd' for haired. My bad. I will also check my spelling, cause it is not my strong point. Agent gummy bear..... xD)
Agent Calebs strode down the hall, passing tech crews, other agents, and scientists going about their work. He stopped outside a glass door with the S.H.I.E.L.D. symbol stained on it. He waved his I.D. under the scanner, then enteted as the doors slid apart with an audable hiss. Inside sat a man, most likely in his 40's. He wore a dark suit, dark pants, and had a full head of brown hair, with a tinge of grey in it. He had a friendly looking face and attitude. Agent Calebs sat down at the chair across from him, studying the man. "Agent Winter?"
The man looked up. "Yes, that's me. Agent Calebs, I presume?"
Calebs nodded. "That is correct. Agent Hill told me to check in here."
Winter stood. "Good, you're just in time. We're going to take a Jump Jet to the Cube, to retrieve the other members of our team. By the way, congratulations on the promotion," he finished, offering his hand.
Calebs shook it, but his mind was elsewhere. "You said Jump Jet, sir?"
"That's correct, son. Ever ridden in one? No? Don't worry, they're as smooth as a bird sailing in the wind. Anyways, grab your gear, and meet me at the hanger in fifteen."
"Yes sir, " Calebs replied, walking away.
***
Calebs walked into the busy hanger, watching the hustle and bustle of the flight crews and pilots. Hearing his name called, he looked to the left and saw Winter, along with a pilot, and two guards.
"Got everything?" Winter asked. "Good these guards needed a ride to the Cube, so I offered to let them come along." Winter climbed up the boarding ramp, Calebs and the guards tailing him. The four of them strapped into their seats to await the ride over to the Cube.
Calebs ears popped, a sign they were at 50,000 feet. Across from him, Winter grinned. "You'll get used to it."
Calebs nodded, too queasy for words. However, he heard something. A little clang, to be precise. Winter heard it too and opened a comm channel the pilot. "The mechanics checked this plane out, right?"
The pilot looked back and gave a thumbs up. "That is correct, sir."
Calebs and Winter looked at each other worriedly, as one of the guards started walking towards the back, gun drawn.
