I have listened to countless podcasts of Lama Marut and gotten so much out of them I hoped this book would match that same level. And, it did! As Lama Marut would say: there is no news here, just lots of olds. But the way the book is laid out and the rounding out of the teachings added much more to what I had already learned in the past. Lama Marut's relaxed, approachable style removes so much of the archaic language of the original texts that can make some of these concepts difficult to grasp. I highly reccomend this book for novice and advanced practitioner alike.
If you've ever had the chance to hear this amazing teacher speak, you'll recognize his sharp wit and cutting analysts immediately in this book. And of course it's got plenty of laugh inducing cleverness and modern cultural authenticity. But mostly this book just works. It delivers the goods as he sometimes says. Lama Marut has a gift for making incredibly deep esoteric ideas seem not only accessible, but wholly practicable. If you are tired of the same old shtick in so called self-help books, this bold and in-your-face assembly of wisdom can function as a powerful handbook for creating more happiness, for yourself and others.
