Beauty's Kiss (Once Upon a Princess, #3) by C. S. Johnson

Rose, the Princess of Rhone, doomed to fall into a sleeping death on her eighteenth birthday, has only ever wanted two things in all her life: to be free of her curse, and to never fall in love. After securing the dragon's blood from the Serpent's Garden, Rose is confident she has all she needs to free herself from Magdalina's curse. But when Magdalina comes to offer Rose a new deal—one that would free her from her curse, while also eliminating future threats—Rose is forced to confront the truth of her feelings for Theo.

As Theo's past and new troubles interrupt their journey back to Rhone, Rose knows she must make a devastating choice. Will she let herself fall in love? Or will she break her own heart instead?

What a gut-wrenching ending! My first reaction was WHYYYYYYYYY (insert lots of crying and tissue blowing)! Another phenomenal novella in the Once Upon A Princess Saga! Truly the stakes are higher and things are even more tense and engaging then before. I didn't think I could love this series any stronger, but the author proved me quite wrong, especially in matters concerning Phillip. I absolutely LOVED the why he was with Rose and all things surrounding him. What a beautiful and surprising plot twist! Also, let's talk about that one scene with Theo and Rose. Excuse me while I smirk because that was priceless. I'm very much looking forward to the last book in the series and can't wait to see all this stuff and drama and more magic stuff get cleared up. Who knew that family dynamics would play such a powerful role? Recommend to those who love fairytales!

Reviewed by Kristen Van Kampen (Teen Reviewer) for Readers' Favorite Beauty's Kiss by C.S. Johnson is a breathtaking young adult fantasy novel, following a princess named Rose. She is nearing the end of her long quest to get rid of her curse; all she has left to do is kill the fairy who cursed her. If only things were that simple. Someone had tried to kill her father, the king, and now her mother is in prison, and her younger siblings have fled the kingdom, fearing for their well-being. Rose has learned of an increase of illegal magdust (magic dust that is obtained by crushing fairies) trade, and she also finds out about a plan someone had to start a war between her kingdom and another one. With all this on her mind, will Rose be able to rid herself of her curse? I really loved reading Beauty's Kiss by C.S. Johnson. The book is an absolute joy to read, and will keep the reader fascinated as they follow Rose's adventures. The book is very well written and descriptive. This story has scenes that will cause readers to laugh, gasp, and even cry alongside the characters. I was hooked by the first page, and I never wanted to put the book down. The book is a real page turner, and will keep the reader wanting to know what comes next. This book maintains all the excitement of the first two books, and won't disappoint fans of the series. It is absolutely thrilling from cover to cover. I can't wait to read the next one in the series. I would definitely recommend this to everyone.
