The second installment of Wendy Corsi Staub's Lily Dale series begins where AWAKENING left off-with Calla beginning to understand, and utilize, her psychic abilities. After leading authorities to the body of a missing girl, Kaitlyn, in book one, Calla finds herself the target of Kaitlyn's killer, who has perpetrated a string of abductions. Add to this suspenseful tale a bit more of the backstory concerning Calla's mother's mysterious death and a dose romantic intrigue, and Staub delivers a top-notch YA novel with the perfect set-up for book three. Highly reccommended!

I don't mind series by authors I like but I do mind it when the books do not stand on their own. A book should complete a storyline, the previous book seemed to be just a hook to get you interested in the next (how else would we learn what became of Calla)? Having said I liked the previous book enough to buy this one :) This is great light summer reading with likeable quirky characters but includes some sinister undertones and sketchy characters as well to keep it "real'.

I could not put this book down, it was so good, although the end was scary; I made the mistake of finishing it right before bed. I have not read the last one in the series yet and I can't wait to find out what happens to everyone since it ended so abruptly. All in all: read this book!
