I have read all the books in the author's Dangerous series. I have loved them all. I really enjoy her "alpha males". They have everything you could possibly want in a traditional hero; they're physically strong, emotionally tough (yet tender) even ruthless at times but they are respectful of women. They have a particular reverence for that one woman who has captured their heart. And they will do everything in their power to keep her safe. I realize that these heros may not be very PC but WHO CARES! These guys are HOT! The women in these stories more than rise to meet the challenge of being loved by these heroes. This book is well worth the price of admission into a world where men are men and women are loved by them!

I'm a huge Lisa Marie Rice fan but "Dangerous Passion" falls short of the first two installments of this trilogy. The book feels hurried and the plot veers wide of reality. Does anyone believe that a gun battle, resulting in multiple corpses, outside of a swanky Manhattan art gallery would go unnoticed by the FBI, CIA or even the local police? I know things are tough for us single city girls, but Ms Rice makes hooking-up down right bloody, killing off a surprising number of people before our heroine scores a first kiss. This brings us to the other problem in the book, the heroine, Grace Larson. Ms Rice writes about women who are slightly removed from the mainstream. Whether it's their location, or a family or health tragedy, their circumstances make them touchingly innocent and in need of a strong protector. Grace, however, was too removed. She was so singularity focused on her art that I started to wonder if she suffered from Asperger's Syndrome. Much the way crayons are given to traumatized children; a set of new art supplies easily distracts her from the violence and chaos that suddenly enters her life. Still the book isn't all-bad. The hero, Victor "Drake" Drakovich, comes across as a genuine, despite his unrealistic lifestyle. As an alpha-male, he doesn't lack anything. He treats Grace well, and stops at nothing to protect her. I love that he is Slavic, a refreshing flip from all evil Eastern Block mobsters that fill the movies these days. More importantly I love the fact that he is stands under 6'. I like tall men but height isn't everything. Too many beautiful, sculpted, alpha-males are passed over by men who have nothing on them except a few inches. Those inches can easily be distributed elsewhere! With more time and thought I think Dangerous Passions might have been a better read. And I don't blame Ms Rice's entirely for its failure. The romance industry is more interested in franchises and was probably hurrying her to finish the third book. What is wrong with a pair of good books? Maybe it because there isn't a word that precedes "trilogy". I hope this isn't the last book from this author writing as Lisa Marie Rice. Now that would be a disappointment.

BUY BUY BUY. I read this book in a day. I just couldn't put it down. I enjoyed the story and main characters. So what a lot of the stuff is unbelievable; BUT, so what. It's a book not the cure for cancer. It definitely entertained me. There are twists and some loose ends that have me hanging; hence, the reason I gave the book 4 stars instead of a 5 star rating. What happened to the snitch, original men including right hand assistant, and the revenge sponsor? Why sell art now? I think the author should have given me more closure / answers. Unless, this there's going to another book that provides me with the answers. Nonetheless, i enjoyed my ride.

"Dangerous Passion" has everything readers expect from Lisa Marie Rice--a hot Alpha male, a woman in trouble, tense action, and enough sizzling sex to set your fingers on fire. Although I enjoyed this story a lot, I did notice more than a passing resemblance to a previously released story, "Secluded" in Secrets, Vol. 9. She's a mostly naive artist, struggling to make her living in the big city but content with her distance from others. One day Grace's artworks catch the eye of an anonymous collector who buys up everything she produces. Then during one visit to the art gallery to drop off her newest works, Grace is kidnapped and her dealer friend killed. But when they try to use her to force compliance from a stranger in a nearby alley, the stranger saves Grace and gets away...taking Grace with him to his highrise aerie.Drake has always known he would die violently. He is, after all, the head of a billion-dollar arms empire--and not all that money was earned legally. He's honed himself into a lethal weapon and never takes chances...until he spots Grace's artwork and sees himself in it. For one year, he's only watched from a distance; but when his enemies try to snatch Grace, he realizes her life will never be the same. She's his only weakness, but she's also his only happiness. It takes talent to make me LIKE a weapons dealer! Drake grew up hard and can only express tenderness with Grace (silly sigh). She confuses him, attracts him, and completes him and he (in a typical male manner) can't figure out quite why. WHAT an Alpha. And the sex?! I think my fingers are still smoking! The story does take place in a compressed timeframe, but that's part of the plot so it didn't bug me. The contrast between the characters and their natures are a big part of what draws me to Rice's works and this story is no exception. My only beef is the story's eerie resemblance to a previously released work. Not that I didn't enjoy the greatly expanded version, but I would have liked to have known about it before reading "Dangerous Passion". Lisa Marie Rice is still one of my favorite erotica authors and I'll be anxiously awaiting her next release.

I was a little uncertain about this book at the beginning I mean the hero is a gun runner after all. However this sory isn't about his business but about his redemption. It was wonderful to see the change in Drake as he fell in love with Grace. Grace also changes becoming more confident and grounded. Her life has revolved around her art for so long she had lost touch with the real world in some ways. Drake's life had become insulated and lonely never able to trust anyone. I was a little sad that Drake never knew who had betrayed him and why. I wad also sad that he lost all of Grace's artwork that had made him feel alive again. This is another wonderful book from the very talented Ms. Rice. She never fails to please and I look forward to each book as it comes out.

I found this to be a fantasy that is close to my heart. The three of these novels are a great starter for those just getting into reading romance novel.

I found the character development was lacking and I also find it hard to believe that anyone who is that introverted would hop into bed with someone else that quickly. Sorry, not as good as I hoped it would be.
