Doofus is a sad, black, abandoned puppy adopted from the dogs' home. But it soon becomes obvious to his new owner Holly and her animal-mad friend Clive that Doofus is no ordinary dog. About the Author

I'm a qualified teacher and librarian who has had seven children's books published in traditional form in the UK and USA. I've also had over 30 stories published in British and Australian women's magazines.
In 2012 I set up a child-friendly website, www.megamousebooks.com, to offer free children's stories, ebooks and printable puzzles. It's proving a full-time job, but a very enjoyable one!

With a title like Doofus dog of doom, i wasnt expecting much, but i was pleasantly surprised. This was a very good story. Around 136 pages with no sex, dirty language so kids could read this and like it too. I was drawn in by the love that grew so slowly between the girl and the dog and many adventures they encountered. Highly recommend.

This is one of the finest stories I have ever read...written for young adults, but really for anyone. I hope more people read this and share it with their children...it awakens us to the beauty of youth through old age...offering something to everyone!

I don't normally go for these types of books but since it was free thought i'd give it a go. What a wonderful surprise of a twist bringing the ancient into the present and a wonderful tale of loss and acceptance. If you enjoy animal tales this is a must have read it again book for your library
