About the Author

NYASHA WILLIAMS is a passionate social justice griot who grew up living intermittently between the United States and South Africa. Nyasha’s mission is to use words and stories to decolonize literature, minds, and spiritual practices. She is the author of What’s the Commotion in the Ocean?, I Affirm Me, The Ally Baby Series, and Black Tarot.

Kimishka Naidoo is a South African woman of South Asian decent who was raised to embrace the duality of her identity and celebrate other cultures at a young age. She travelled across the globe living in France, Austria and South Korea, where she was urged to explore and approach every situation with a wide lens and an open heart.

She now enjoys creating illustrations that highlight and amplify the appreciation for BIPOC culture and beauty.
