Born in 348 B.C., Aristotle pushed open new doors of thought, always a risky enterprise. He gained access to Alexander, then a young man, later to become "the Great."

Aristotle's ideas were liberal and they had consequences. Generations of Muslims, Christians and Jews have benefited from them, transmitted as they were by a man who under another tutor might have been known as merely "the Conqueror."
