Overview

Inspired by the timeless quote by the great writer George Eliot, It's Never Too Late to Be What You Might Have Been is a guidebook to getting the life you've always wanted. Written in best-selling author BJ Gallagher's trademark warm and witty style, this book is written for, in her own words, "Everyone who has let fear or busyness or any reason good or bad get in the way of achieving your highest goals and long-held dreams, and isn't that everyone?" Whether you are a brand new college graduate going out into the big, wide world, a business executive escaping burnout, or a 40-something mom looking for a 'second life,' this book is a wonderful combination of great advice, step-by-step guidelines, and pure inspiration to listen to and honor your inner voice and seize not just the day, but the rest of your life!

It’s never too late to become what you might have been.
• George Eliot (Mary Ann Evans)

This is one of my all-time favorite quotes. It’s powerful because it is absolutely true – and it’s even more powerful because its author, Mary Ann Evans, really lived the words she wrote. Living in Victorian England in the mid-1800s, she wrote under a male pen name, George Eliot, because she wanted her work to be taken seriously. At the time, women could publish freely under their own names, but they were seen merely as writers of silly romances. Mary Ann wanted her skill and talent to be recognized, so she did what she needed to do to fulfill her ambition as a serious novelist. It wasn’t too late for her, and it’s not too late for you, either. • What are your passions and talents? • Do you have gifts to share with the world? • Have you ever given up a dream in order to be more “practical” in making a living? • Do you long to pick up that dream again? • Do you worry that perhaps it’s too late to become who you might have been? This book is your answer to that question. You only go around once in this life, so why not live a life you love? It would be very sad if, when you reach the end of your years, you died with your potential still intact. Start now. Live now. Love now. Laugh now. Give full expression to who you really are. Go for that deferred dream. You were put on this earth to be the best “you” that you can be. If you don’t do it, nobody else can.
