Kate, a writer, escapes a dissolute past to seek healing. Alicia, a French teacher, takes her children to a new life, escaping a failed relationship with a woman named Ziva. About the Author

Born near Villeneuve-le-Roi, Christine studied at the Sorbonne. For years she was an assistant to her father, who is a retired psychiatrist. Her mother teaches French and German in a suburb of Basel where they live. With her partner, a pianist, and their beloved cat, Christine lives near Montreux.
