Miranda will fight tyrants, even if they're family. Even if it costs her freedom and her life.

One of the elite, Miranda lives a charmed life. But in this 1961, the Fellowship Church rules the United States. She must walk the Fellowship path. Marry the man her parents choose. Follow in his shadow. Be the perfect Fellowship wife.

Miranda fears that trading one gilded cage for another would destroy her. She escapes and begins a new life. A new identity. A life on the run from the Fellowship.

She discovers devastating family secrets, cruel oppression, and callous murder.

No longer blind to the abuses of the Fellowship, she joins the rebels and the fight of her life.

About the Author

Lynette M. Burrows is a survivor. She survived moving to seventeen different schools before she graduated from high school. She claims that this makes her uniquely qualified to write a dystopian novel or two.

Lynette enjoys coffee, the pleasure of real books, and the crack of a nine-millimeter, not necessarily all at the same time—although they all appear in her stories. She writes stories of empowerment and survival spanning space and time. Spiced with a dash of intrigue, a dollop of mayhem, and a liberal dose of automatic weapons, her stories aim to entertain.

The White Box stories, her collaborations with Rob Chilson, appeared in Analog Science Fiction Science Fact Magazine. She’s also had stories published in regional and national children’s magazines.

Her series, The Fellowship Dystopia, takes place in America but it’s not the nation you know. Readers have said the first book in the series, My Soul to Keep has the social significance of The Handmaid’s Tale and the suspense and action will keep you turning pages. Book 2, If I Should DIe will be available late fall of 2020.

She blogs regularly about inspiration, books, story research, writing, and other subjects of interest. She loves to talk to people. Talk to Lynette on,, or one of her author pages.

Lynette, her artist husband and their pack of Yorkies live in Oz, otherwise known as Kansas.
