About the Author

Antonio Padovan was born in Vittorio Veneto and grew up between the Prosecco hills in Conegliano, a small town near Venice, Italy. In 2007, at the age of twenty, he moved to New York, where he received two scholarships that allowed him to attend the New York Film Academy and to begin his career in commercials and films. He works and lives between the US, Europe, and Asia.

He directed campaigns for many international companies, including eStock Photo, Veneta Cucine, De Longhi, Barilla, and Hyunday. In 2012, one year after the Fukushima disaster, after directing a video called “Japan, Beyond” for the Japanese advertising firm Asatsu-DK, he won the “Stand for Japan Award,” and was invited to Tokyo.

In 2013 he wrote and directed “Jack Attack,” a horror short film selected by more than a hundred festivals around the world and awarded with dozens of important prizes. In Los Angeles the film screened at the legendary Chinese Theatre in Hollywood. “Jack Attack” was by acquired by Magnolia, RAI and Mediaset, and was distributed in the US theaters as part of the movies “Seven Hells” and “All Hallow’s Eve 2.”

In 2015 he won the “Premio Speciale Giotto” at the Giffoni Film Festival. The same year, he was invited to the Cannes Film Festival with “Eveless,” a horror segment written and directed for the movie “Galaxy of Horrors."

In 2016 he returned to his Venetian hills to shoot his first feature film, based on the novel by Fulvio Ervas, “Finché c’è Prosecco c’è Speranza,” starring Giuseppe Battiston. In 2017 the movie was a hit in the cinemas.
