I have followed the Six Sisters' facebook and blog page for quite some time. When I found out they were coming out with a cookbook I was very excited. When I ordered it I could not wait. When it came in the mail I was very, very pleased! The pictures in the book make everything jump out at you and you want to make everything! I feel that a lot of thought went into this book. I always say who wants to buy a cookbook without any pictures? I would highly recommend the book and I think I will be buying another one for my daughter for Christmas. mrskmg

I really like this book. It's got great "stuff" to eat, and to do and it's just so inviting with all the color and pictures. I liked it so much, I got their Christmas book too!

I made the slow cooker spiced nuts in the slow cooker and was disappointed. Lifting the lid every 15 minutes didn't keep the heat, so I put them in a 200 degree oven for about an hour and oneo-half and they did crisp. I'm making another batch right now. Barbara Hess

This appealing book cover tells it all about the contents of this fabulous Six Sisters’ STUFF book. It is chock full of delicious main meals, slow cooker recipes, sides, salads, breads, and desserts. It also includes fun crafts to enhance family time together, things to do on a trip, snack ideas, dating ideas, a 73-hour kit which is a grand idea for times of emergencies, and a schedule for a thorough spring cleaning. The recipes are simple and easy to make with staples you mostly carry in your home. My favorites are the Mexican dishes, but don’t stop there. There’s something for even the finicky eater! The desserts are melt-in-your-mouth delicious, with no calories (just kidding on the calories!) The breads section has recipes that I absolutely relish. And the salads are recipes I’ve been looking for. The goal behind the Six Sisters’ STUFF is to get families to eat together more often during the week. Growing up on the farm, that was an easy thing for my family. Today’s culture of sports, work, hobbies, lectures, Bible studies, etc., can easily take us away from that family dinner. The sisters are challenging you to stop the trend of quick bites and learn to cultivate family meals together as often as possible each week. Cook some of these meals, and take the challenge to eat together as a family. What a fantastic idea these women have come up with. It’s all family oriented and the goal is reachable with a little creative changes in our life style. This would make a great wedding, Christmas, birthday, or wedding shower gift. Every family should own one! This book was provided by Michelle Moore, Publicist, Deseret Book|Shadow Mountain in exchange for my honest review. No monetary compensation was received.

Sometimes looking at a cookbook, I feel I have to be a culinary expert just to be able to understand and execute the simplest recipe. When I picked up Six Sisters’ STUFF, I was delighted to find not only yummy recipes, but practical and easy instructions even a novice cook like me can follow. The recipes aren’t complicated and use canned and packaged ingredients. That way more time is spend with the family than in the kitchen cooking. However, if you want to go into more detail, many of the recipes also include instructions for ingredients made from scratch rather than a box or can. Though simple in preparation, the recipes are packed with great taste and easy to prepare for families on the go. The cookbook is divided into three sections: Recipes, Crafts, And So Much More. In the Recipe section the categories are broken into Main Dishes, Slow Cooker, Sides, Salads, Breads and Desserts. The Slow Cooker section has recipes for everything from Melt-in-Your-Mouth Slow Cooker Pot Roast to Slow Cooker Hot Fudge Brownies. Having only used the slow cooker for roast, beans and soup, I decided to try the Creamy Slow Cooker Ranch Pork Chops and Potatoes recipe. It was simple, easy and best of all - tender and delicious. Even the clean up wasn’t bad. I’m looking forward to trying the brownies next. Woven among the recipes are fun and inexpensive crafts ideas, as well as helpful hints and tips. The crafts include such things as an Easy Monster Sock Puppet to a neat Ultimate Kid Wash that will have grownups wanting to play. The hints and tips feature such items as a spring cleaning checklist, fun family activities and even 50 fun date ideas for the adults. Six Sisters’ STUFF would make an ideal gift for a bride, a nice housewarming gift or a fun surprise for anyone who enjoys cooking. The fact that it is compiled by six sisters (Camille, Kristen, Elyse, Stephanie, Lauren, and Kendra) gives it an extra appeal to me. This debut cookbook evolved from the sisters’ blog that began in February 2011. Living in different parts of the country, the sisters used the blog to stay in touch, share ideas and express their love to cook, craft and create. This is a fun cookbook filled with almost 100 delicious recipes designed to give families more time together at the table. The recipes are easy and nutritious. The extra crafts and more are designed with creating family fun in mind. FTC Full Disclosure - I requested this book as part of the Six Sisters’ Tour and it was sent to me by the publisher in hopes I would review it. However, receiving the complimentary copy did not influence my review.
