Clarissa is looking for her place in the world and discovers that magic is real, but unlike Harry Potter and Narnia. The ending brings a cliffhanger, but the story is well-written with few lags. I will be reading the next book. I received Tardy Bells and Witches' Spells free from eBook Discovery. This is my honest review. I voluntarily post this review.

Clarissa loves all things magic. She believes it really exists and she also believes she has magic powers. Despite her mom's determination to stamp magic out of Clarissa's life and make her more normal, Clarissa meets and falls in love with the one guy in high school who is just like her. Together they test the boundaries to see just what they are capable of...until tragedy strikes. This is a very fun YA fantasy book. It kept me smiling throughout. I thoroughly enjoyed it and if you are a fan of YA fantasy, then you will as well.

I received a free copy of Tardy Bells and Witches’ Spells (Womby’s School for Wayward Witches) by Sarina Dorie in exchange for an honest review. Clarissa Lawrence has always wanted have friends and fit in, too. Clarissa is a bit of an odd-duck, though. She remains fascinated with witches, fairies, unicorns and dreams of attending Hogwarts long after most of her age mates have grown out of pretend. Her one respite is her best and beloved friend. The nitty gritty of this book is Clarissa coming to grips with the betrayal of her beloved friend and her journey to moving on. The friend’s escalating vicious behavior pushes Clarissa to blossom; she looks further afield for kinship and, as a result, finds new friends who all accept and support her. Clarissa also deals with parental expectations and disapproval; like most young women, she has to decide whether she wants to be what her parents would deem to be a good daughter more than she needs to be who she was meant to be. Clarissa is innocent, quirky, and entirely loveable. The story was engaging and well-written. I’m really looking forward to the next book! #TardyBellsAndWitches'spells #NetGalley
